Kelly Preston has passed away

My condolences.

Surely people will start to doubt the religion now. I wonder when she last did purif I think that program is toxic and responsible for alot of illness. An auditor I know got cancer not long after doing that. I also believe the more auditing on a meter one does the sicker one can get. I can't see how they think spending hours on a meter is healthy physically. I'm so sorry for the Travoltas 😔

Yeah, I know it might be confirmation bias but... a boatload of scientologists die of cancer.

Part of it might be from the stress that many Scientologists are under. Stress can suppress the immune system.

A big part of it, though, is the Scientologist tendency to not like regular doctors, at least non-Scientologist docs, preferring instead to go to chiropractors.

A few years back, I found out I had a heart condition as a result of my routine physical. I mentioned occasional chest pain when I physically exerted myself, she gave me an EKG, and told me to go to the hospital for tests. A bit of surgery, and I'm good to go for a bunch more years. But if I hadn't gotten it caught, I might be dead now.

THE major factor in surviving cancer, is whether you catch it early. You catch it early by going to regular checkups, and having your doc do a full battery of tests on you on a regular basis. Getting mammograms (for women). Getting colonoscopy (for everyone).

Some of the blood tests your doc may have performed, screen for certain cancer indicators.

Fair point.

I knew several colleagues who died of what I later found out to be cancer. I had two people close to me who also died of cancer. Some went to regular doctors, some did not. But looking back, cancer was clearly the no.1 cause of death among the scientologists I knew.

So far, the 3 scientologists that I know of who did not die of cancer are Hubbard, my gramps and Lisa McPherson. Everyone else pretty much cancer.

Don't leave out suicide.

You definitely do have a point about the stress. Of this I can readily attest.

I've been "really" out now for about three years plus a little. We do have interaction with current "still-ins" almost everyday. I get to hear about what is going on, and all the stupidity that surrounds them all. The one thing that can make me smile with any regularity is the amount of stress that I now DO NOT HAVE!! It was awful, always the worry about money, time, progress, course, events, regging, everything. Saying the right thing all the time, and not pissing off the wrong person, ugh.

And the money wasn't the biggest worry, not that we had a lot. It's just that THEY are always worried about YOUR money, and how they are going to get it. You are always being pushed for something, being HANDLED to do something, go somewhere, help in some way, participate in some way. The motto in registration and other areas is that there is no such thing as personal space, no such thing as a secret to be withheld from people.

Then there was the stress of auditing. There was the stress associated with buying auditing, when you thought that the auditing that you had purchased before would be sufficient, and it never was. Then there was the stress of receiving, being in the right place at the right time, usually an out of town trip. Expecting to go in, then you didn't. Then the two weeks that you sat aside to do it rolls into two months. BTW, my opinion of auditing is now much different of what opinion that I had before, and that is I think you are much better off not doing it. I am not the person that I once was, not by a long shot. Unfortunately for those around me that get to find that out the hard way.

There is definitely stress, and lots of it, regardless of your level, and maybe more especially as you go to the higher levels.

I had a thread on stress and cancer in the old message board

I was very interested to read about your views on receiving auditing. Speaking personally, I couldn't get enough of the stuff, I loved getting it and I loved auditing people. When I was in, a lot of what I read about here didn't exist, you just went up the grade chart from something like ARC Straightwire, Power and Power Plus, R6EW, Clearing Course etc. etc. Occasionally you went to review for an S&D perhaps or a Green Form. I was an org. staff member so I got free auditing. These days, being forced to undergo all the sec-checking I read about and having to pay through the nose for it would have freaked me out.

I will say that my current position on auditing stems from the recent sec-checks and FPRD that I had. I used to think well of it, but there were changes that made it a monstrous thing to undergo. I will write something on this auditing subject coming up.

Not that I know anything about this, But.....

I have always been under the impression that Hollywood actors are Contractually required to pass physicals prior to signing an Industry Contract.

No Television or Movie Contract for BIG BUCKS is going to be signed unless the Actor is given a clean bill of health....there is just too much money put out by the Studios and Production Companies....to have a Actor die....mid filming of a project.

If it is a Television Series...that goes on for years.....there must be regular health checks required?

So....if that is the case.....where do all the Scientology Actors and Actresses get this done, and by whom?

What does the Church of Scientology think about this....

Dr. Denk is not around any more....

But...Dr. Megan Sheilds is.....

Edited:

IF....an On Lines Scientologist is seeing a Doctor....and is taking Medication....then the Cult of Scientology is going to want to know All About It....for sure.

It will be a topic in any Scientology Handling......whether Auditing or Ethics....

And it will be in the Member's Folders.

And they are going to have some medically uneducated person in the Cult.....looking up that Medication in a Pharmacological Book....and making judgements about it.

The Cult will certainly have Medically Uneducated persons making judgements on a Member's Medical Condition in relationship to their being PTS.....and involved with SPs.....

^^^^^^^

This is perhaps not well known.....to all.

But the Cult of Scientology IS INVOLVED with medical issues that any member might have or be dealing with.....

According to CNN.....Kelly Preston had been fighting Breast Cancer for 2 years.

If that is true.....then it must have been kept hidden and covered up from the News....for quite some time.

What are Scientology's and Hubbard's writings and orders regarding Mammograms?

I wonder if his wife's death will shake John Travolta's absolute certainty about scientology working?

I doubt it.

I'm not so sure that Travolta has absolute certainty about Scientology working. My suspicion is that he is in for other reasons.

He could inflict serious damage to CoS and I've got no doubt that Miscavige would play hardball with him, with threats of blackmail and other tactics to keep him in line.

I'm not saying that for the purpose of excusing him from the responsibility of the destructive consequences he causes by promoting an abusive and criminal cult. I've got zero respect for the man. He should grow a set and publicly speak about what he knows to really be true.
