As staff, we were all complicit in the abuses. Especially all of us who had management responsibility.

If any staff members weren't complicit in the abuses, as a staff member, they were still supporting an abusive organization, wittingly or not.

And many who were aware that their actions were hurting others believed their actions were ethical because they were working to clear the planet, so it was considered the greatest good.

You can justify anything with that "logic," of course. You can disconnect from your family members because they have counter-intention to the CoS. But it is the greatest good, so what you are doing is ethical. And biological family members aren't native to a thetan anyway.

Going further, you can kill your enemies according to Scientology Ethics, as long as you don't create a PR flap by doing so. If OSA succeeded in killing Paulette Cooper, they would have celebrated as if they had won the lottery.

Yah, but all I wanted to do was help people. Intentions do matter. So do actions. I never screamed at or picked on anybody. Not every ex can say that.

There are some exes I know who really are nice people living their best lives. But they did terrible awful things when they were in. I wonder if that ever bothers them because it’d sure bother me. I feel bad about tactless, foolish or cutting things I said years ago let alone those things.

It is all wanted as well, to help people. At age 21, when I got involved with Scientology, I was very idealistic and had a strong purpose to help humanity. And while I didn't do awful things when in, I still supported a criminally abusive cult for about ten years while working for several different organizations, providing about 20,000 hours of slave labor, which benefited them. And that IMO is a terrible thing, because I was supporting an organization that WAS doing terrible awful things.
