Failure of Scn to evolve sanely

With the schism of the 1980s, there was an expectation that Independent Scientology might actually evolve.
That there might be a non crazy and enlightened version of Scientology - perhaps called Zen Scientology.

Independent Scientology has been disappointing.

Maybe with a few exceptions, although that may be wishful thinking.

What were they supposed to evolve into? What does scientology have that is of actual worth? Seriously ... what possible parts of scientology are of value?

If Scientology actually DELIVERED increased ability, field auditors who were proficient in auditing would be wealthy.

A hedge fund manager doing $billions in trades; a high profile lawyer; a CEO of a major company -- how much do you think they would be willing to pay for even a minor gain in personal performance?

Scientology's heavy handed "Ethics" was necessary, in order to suppress people talking about lack of results.

I know it would be a different subject, and you know it would be a different subject. We know a lot of things. But the purpose of a thread like this is not to sing to the choir.

Some people like echo chambers. They find them reassuring, I guess. But I've never cared that much for echo chambers myself.

This thread was posted to provide a little variation, and on the remote chance that a lurker might see it.

Such a hypothetical lurker would have come across some piece of Scientology and have been fascinated by it. Such a person would be unlikely to derive much benefit from being told that he or she can't polish a turd, etc. etc.

One would first have to outline a minimal composition of 'sane' Scientology before discussing evolution.

Originally it was all over the place and should never have evolved into 'standard procedure'.
