Last Thursday, we let our readers know that we were diverting from our usual focus on Scientology in order to help out a member of the Underground Bunker community who said he needed our assistance.
His wife, a woman we have decided to call “Dawn,” had received unsolicited and unwanted videos from Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando that showed him masturbating.
Dando, 58, lives in São Paolo, Brazil with his second wife, filmmaker Antonia Teixeira and her three children. Press reports in recent months had noted that despite Dando’s long problems with substance abuse, he and the Lemonheads were making something of a comeback with their new album released in October, Love Chant.
“Evan Dando is back from the brink,” the New York Times announced on October 2, noting that Dando not only had a new album out, but also a memoir, Rumors of My Demise.
Dawn told us that she sent Dando a direct message through Twitter/X congratulating Dando on the new album, but didn’t hear anything back from him until this past week, when he sent the unwanted videos.
Before reaching out to us, Dawn posted about being sent the videos at her Threads account and then took those posts down, but her followers realized our story was about her when she linked to it.
