Since Charlie Kirk’s assassination in September, political commentator Candace Owens, who used to work for Kirk’s Turning Point USA, has been promoting conspiracy theories about his death, creating a rift between Owens and Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, CEO of TP USA.
We’re not particularly interested in this feud, except that a few days ago, Owens made an interesting accusation, claiming that one of TP USA’s “bigger donors” is a Scientologist.
She didn’t name that donor (other than to say she wasn’t referring to clownish UK conservative John Mappin), and the claim excited a few news outlets. The International Business Times, for example, pointed out that it was a particularly effective jab by Owens because the list of donors at TP USA is private, and there seemed to be no way to corroborate the accusation that a wealthy Scientologist is funding the right wing organization.
But we do know about a couple of Scientologists that are funding TP USA because they haven’t been quiet about it.
“I’ve given them millions of dollars,” Scientology mega-donor Tom Cummins said in a recent YouTube interview with some fellow Scientologists.
