In July, we told you that a new notice from Scientology indicated that some sucker had been convinced to pay for a “mission package” so a new unneeded outlet could be opened, this time in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sure, Tulsa’s a hot-bed for space cadets who can’t wait to explore their past lives to see what kind of genocidal wars they were involved in billions of years ago on other planets. Scientology is going to sell like hotcakes there!

Anyway, one of our readers has kept a close eye on the situation there to see how that new mission was going to play out, and sent us some updated info.

This week, the Tulsa World reported that a new commercial building permit had been taken out by a “Himark LLC” for a Church of Scientology Mission at 1523 S. Harvard Avenue.

That’s a street view shot of 1523 S. Harvard above, and you can see that it’s pretty typical of Scientology mission locations these days, sitting on a relatively busy artery, but with very little potential for foot traffic.

Man, that's really being born under a bad sign, when you go to where your local Jamba Juice or Massage Envy was, and now its a Scientology store.
 
Is there any data around about the effect these scientology pop-up shops have on the business environment around them? Just curious.
