[Joy Villa, right, with reclusive Scientology celebrity Connor Cruise]
“I can't believe Katie did that to Tom,” Isabella Cruise, Tom Cruise’s daughter, told Joy Villa when they were together at Saint Hill Manor, Scientology’s UK headquarters.
“That was Bella’s point of view, that what Katie had done was very hurtful. But she never mentioned Suri,” Villa added, referring to the way Katie Holmes, with her daughter Suri in tow, separated from Cruise in 2012 in an elaborately planned operation while he was in Iceland filming a movie.
Villa, 39, who gained media attention for wearing a Trump-themed dress to the 2017 Grammy awards, was encouraged by President Trump to explore a run for Congress that year, and has continued to get notoriety for her Grammy appearances, made a surprise announcement of her defection from Scientology on May 14 in a live video on X.
It’s a few of weeks later, she’s made a live video appearance here at the Underground Bunker, and now she’s talking on the phone about the years 2013 to 2017, when she spent a lot of time at Scientology’s headquarters in Clearwater, Florida and East Grinstead, England, and got to knew three of the younger and more famous members of the church: Tom Cruise’s children Isabella (32) and Connor (30), and John Travolta’s daughter Ella Bleu (25).
Joy got to know all three of them well, she says, and also spent considerable time with Kirstie Alley at “Flag,” the Flag Land Base, Scientology’s “spiritual headquarters” in Clearwater, before Alley's death to cancer in 2022.
