About me

On that note, I have read many accountings of people's experiences in SCN and the Sea Org. They range between Good and Bad and In Between and some outright horrendous. I haven't been in this Redux version of Ex-SCN enough to see how it compares to the original, but back there and when if you said anything positive about your experience you got trashed pretty badly. I still go by "what is true for you is true". If your experience SUCKED then for you it SUCKED. If yours wasn't so bad overall then THAT is how it was for you. I would reword the above to read: You can take the person out of SCN, but you can't take SCN out of the person. There are basic I learned in SCN which for me are still very much applicable and work. In my opinion SCN itself or at least some of it , minus the aberrated human element, is NOT bad or evil. It's the jerk people who abuse it, misunderstand it, use it in harmful ways. Like they say. It's NOT the gun, which sitting by itself on a table cannot shoot anyone...it's when a person grabs it, aims and pulls the trigger that it becomes a bad thing. Same with the Catholic Church and the pedophile priests. I can tell you personally that NOT all priests are or were sexual perverts. I was an altar boy for several years and never, ever did the priest do anything whatsoever to us...so is it fair to say that the entire Catholic Church is BAD? NO it isn't. A spoon was designed to eat cereal and soup with and stuff but mis-used for evil purposes it can KILL somebody. The entirety of SCN itself is not 100% evil, 100% bad, it is not a cult 9at least when I was in it from 1968 to 1981) It just appears that way due to some of the assholes who mis-use it a la Miscarriage (yeah that's what I call David)

I disagree. It is not 'the jerk people who abuse it' that makes scientology bad, it is intrinsically bad in and of itself. Most of the people who got into scientology were caring and had high ideals but were duped by Hubbard's rhetoric.

You think scientology has many good points? Fair enough, but remember, this is an EX scientologist website, and if you want to proselytise here then you'd better grow a very thick skin.

The system which LRH set up, is inherently abusive.

Once you have accepted that Scientology is "the only way out of an eternity of darkness and pain", once you accept that it therefore has an infinite value, that ONE DATUM, all by itself, acts to justify an infinite cost.

To someone who has accepted that one datum, then ANYTHING can be justified as "the greatest good". Cheating people out of their savings? Violent abuse? Murder? It can ALL be justified by a Scientologist, if doing the abuse could plausibly be argued as contributing to "getting the stats up".

I think it's correct to say SOME of Scn is okay but the problem is that it is a very small part. To make the whole subject acceptable to most people you would have to eliminate most of it - Sea Org, heavy ethics, OT levels, heavy regging etc and these all came from Hubbard just as the "good" bits did.

I agree with you there. It is similar with the US election going on right now.

I learned stuff in Scientology that I am applying to what is happening between the Left and the Right in our Country.

We have evidence of voter fraud.
The left believe it is evil to do a recount. The left owns all mainstream media and won't report the truth. They use propanganda and feed their followers lies. They have been GASLIGHTING the public with the propaganda and lies.
They manufacture whatever stories to keep the left "believing".

The left and mainstream media initiate ad hom attacks to "the Donald" and the people who support him. They initiate "fair game" - set up websites with names of Trump Supporters to keep them from getting work etc. Initiate violence at Trump Rallies. Support hate groups to create chaos, violence and confusion among the people etc...
In the name of "clearing the country" - we must get all progressive politician's elected so we can lie, cheat, steal, manufacture whispering campaigns, get rid of the President and do whatever it takes and justify it - it is for their own good.

Scientology has members believe it is evil to ask for a refund after a Scientologist finds out they were duped by LRH and there are no clears or OT's. One is declared an SP and loses family, jobs, are fair gamed etc. That member is shunned by all active members and put on a list. Fired from Scientology owned businesses,, disconnected from friends.
Scientology also believes it is evil to have psychiatric care. The Psych's invalidated Hubbard's Dianetic's and he made them enemy #1 in Scientology. Although Scientology will take your money, they will at some point down the road, keep your money and tell you - you are not qualified for services because you went to "a psych". You are a Illegal PC. Come back next lifetime and thanks for the dough. It is standard operating procedure.

1968 to 1981. That would be a pretty eventful span of time.

You would have been a member when John McMaster was still being celebrated as the "first real Clear" and, a year later, when he was declared a suppressive person.

Were you there when this appeared in the Auditor newspaper?

As I recall, 1968 was the year that those giant photos of Hubbard began to be displayed.

And a year after Hubbard made himself the Commodore and established the Sea Organization.

A fair number of the people who had been around before "Ethics"/SP Declares/KSW circa 1965, and before the Sea Org circa 1967, had left Scientology by 1968, but a few occasionally appeared. They tended to seem old and odd to the newer members. Almost as though they had been involved with a different subject.

Some new people had become involved after having been introduced to Scientology by a person handing out psychedelically decorated Scientology tickets at the entrance to an Incredible String Band concert. It was quite a contrast between the ISB and a typical Org.
