Think about it, for the last 40 years or so, they have not succeeded in getting 10,000 Solo NOTs completions. That says a lot about how many active Scientologists they have.

in the article, they're claiming close to 8k Super Power comps -- though like with any CoS figure it's open to question whether that's counting things like re-dos, or is even majorly fudged somehow. i think that's an interesting number, because it's a newer 'stat' that's only been accumulating for about a decade, and involves something that as i understand it is open to all members regardless of their status on the 'bridge'.

but at that, it still points to how many -- or few -- truly active members they have, who can get to Flag and do a relatively basic service that's been massively promoted. and it fits with some reports, and impressions in a lot of event photographs, that local orgs are down to 35-50 and in some cases fewer members who are really all that involved.

I think that counts anything they can count, re-dos, staff, etc. I don't know that I'd call SP a basic service. Yes, it can be done at many places on the Bridge (drug handlings done is the only requirement I think?), but SP costs close to 50K at a minimum, that's a lot of money. The fact that they got 8K people through it goes to show how hard they've been pushing it.

That they're taking so long to hit the 10K solo nots number and that they only got 8K through SP proves their claims of millions of Scientologists are completely false. For me it's more evidence that the 20Kish that has been estimated is accurate.

One other comment I wanted to add. I think I've heard that they are getting close to the 10K target. But you can be sure they are counting everyone they can. People who later left, were declared, died, I'm sure they are all still counted. I wonder what number they would be at if they took off everyone who left Scientology, died, etc. That would tell the real story.

One always has to remind themselves to try to look at things from the brighter side--that the glass is half-full.

Ergo, Scientologists should not feel despondent that after 72 years of operation they still haven't produced 10,000 beings that reached the State of OT—because there are many other COS statistics that are booming.

For example, considering that approximately 99% of Scientologists end up blowing, that would mean that Scientology has produced millions who successfully reached Other States (PTS, NCG, DB & SP).
