Alex Barnes-Ross sends us another remarkable dispatch…

Yesterday, I was invited yet again to the Houses of Parliament, this time to speak at the Palace of Westminster and provide the National Working Group on Spiritual, Ritual, and Cult Abuse an update on the work I have been doing on the issue of Scientology abuse.
The meeting was attended by about 50 people in-person and around 70 tuning in online representing a variety of government bodies, charities, and advocacy groups. There were also of course, a number of survivors and Members of Parliament there and it was an honour to be given a chance to speak.
Although I only had ten minutes, I did what I could with the time to give survivors a voice and shared three personal stories. I gave everybody in the room a printed booklet produced by the Michael J. History often begins with a single voice. Real change begins when those voices are finally heard.

Back in the day, it was just Ex Scientologists talking to other Exes and even though the CULT was up in arms over it, it was more mingling with each other.

Then gradually that changed.

Mike Rinder spent *HUGE* amounts of time in interviews with the FBI.

Leah Remini has spoken to those in authority.

No longer in fear of OSA Fair Game, more and more came forward and spoke up to various Government entities>

For decades, former members were often portrayed as disgruntled ex-members. Hateful "APOSTATES" who were all criminal and not worthy of listening to.

What is different now is that increased survivors appear before parliamentary groups, safeguarding organizations, human trafficking specialists, journalists, and lawmakers. That represents a shift in credibility and visibility>

Good job Alex, carry on !
