35 years in Scientology before he took his own life

Romey Beliles became obsessed with Scientology in High School. He spent 35 years trying to achieve the promises made in Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, but was thwarted at every step by Scientology officials. Eventually, he took his own life in Clearwater, Florida, in the hope that he would be reborn in a Scientology family. Tony Ortega talks about the months he spent meticulously piecing together this tragic story. Jon talks about his own investigation into 38 Scientologists who tragically ended their lives, and one who survived a head-on impact from an express train despite the death wish instilled in him by Scientologists.

It's sad. My ex husband was also possessed by the idea he'd never have auditing until he got a new baby body in Clearwater. He'd been told he was ineligible as he was on pain meds for his quadraplegic condition, and he'd very atrophied hands. He also wrote letters to the International Justice Chief, but was told he was an illegal PC. He got a bit of non-metered auditing at AOLA or ASHO, gave up, and flew home after flunking the CCRD. I don't know how they strapped those cans on him.

At the Champaign Urbana Org in Illinois they legally gave him periodic assists . Upon death, in 2002, his brother flew from Decatur, with the ashes and poured them off Pier 69 on Clearwater Beach. He stated he had hopes to attach spiritually to a baby body being born to Scientologists doing Flag services.

Ugh! "Illegal PC": Someone who actually needs help.
And exposes how Scientology doesn't live up to the hype. Another example is being classified as a "resistive case", i.e., doesn't respond well to irrelevant processing direction.

It's appalling that so many earnest auditors had such little education, either in real world psychology, or in the 1950-60s research era of LRH.
It was the C/S's job to get these people to use actions in The Book of Case Remedies. They'd no idea sometimes, WHY the actions might cool down their client in trouble.....they just did the action.

I am of the opinion that you know what you know. And you have the skills and knowledge of the valence, universe, mind....whatever you want to call that costume...available to you. Each time the client changes, the auditor has to deal with a different set of case problems. Different manifestations occur for each change of viewpoint. A green auditor hardly got the time to study the spiritual complexities. It's enough for the C/S to write down the right tool for the right job needing to be done.

Instead of alleviating dissociation, aiming at wholeness, auditing could often veer down a wrong corridor, introvert and fracture people more.

That one needs to die in order to inhabit a new body, is interesting. You either can own a viewpoint 'outside' the body, or you can't. In today's society, I'd say some people wouldn't perceive they existed at all, without their body. . No body, means no viewpoint. That's the way the script was writ.

So, in order to go from nesting in one vehicle to nesting in the new one.....don't we need a sovereign self to breach the gap on that search mission.
I think this is the point where we gaslight ourselves, not looking at any benchmark of progress. We may innately sense that it was a tiring time, being outside, all the time....and, now, there's nuthin better than being a happy, healthy, human being?

How sad, very vert sad! 🙁
Unfortunately, there are several similaire stories of mental / physical disabled people who desperatly petitioned their illegal PC status. They were given PGM after PGM after PGM to complete, for years ..till they run out of their money, belongings, retirement funds and fall down into a profond despair, some ending un the streets, other psychiatry or talking their own life...when they realize they will never " go up the Bridge to their freedom.."

Il recall a member's partner on the old forum, endind with a catatonic depression , and then, died in deep emotional and spiritual pain. 😐

In instances where there's a resistive case, it might be difficult to get the submerged person to see any intention / counter intention. The rule was always that it was a Person which would have Will or intention. Hubbard said if you couldn't get THAT, you go wandering, lost in the maze. I feel that once you've submerged into another, newer mental universe, having nothing to do with the one being triggered, you're dead without smart auditor. I don't know if the 3 S & Ds is still done. Miracles can happen if hitting the un-mocking charge but are auditors allowed to list these days. The Suppressed Person Rundown was long and some missed the charge causing the illness. I think it contained listing too.

While the Shattering Suppression course is often done along side False Purpose Rundowns, it takes awareness to spot that capable souls, submerged down under, may still be using every ability they have, to attack....each other. Left hand not letting the right know about it. It saves lives spotting the present condition being used as the safe place. Happens miraculously fast, with a person leaving wth illness vanished, after a couple sessions. Today, mentioning any healing or an instant recovery, is verboten. During the 60s Tony Ortega mentions, I know, the hounds were unleashed to seek and find live items.

This "resistive case" crap is so convoluted and misleadingly complicated. There is "resistance" amounting to being given irrelevant questions/instructions, which is not resistance, just nothing there in relation to what is being directed, and there is "protective" resistance, due to fear in relation to the subject at hand, in which case that fear needs to be processed/digested, often in the form of attitudes and/or personas taken on to try to resist. Scientology "auditors" and "case supervisors" are subtly indoctrinated to blame the "PC" (their "case", "PTS", "SP", etc) when their approach isn't flying. I largely make my good living having my clients who invested decades and large amounts of money "going OT" in Scientology to successfully process the material and accomplish the relief and changes that "the bridge" sidestepped with its generic one-size-fits-nobody imposition of largely irrelevant and delusional programming.

Yeah, the person ends up sitting in a long-term upset that colors their entire world with the disappointment. Everything takes on the FEEL of it. The chronic emotion is cluster making, like a drop of blue watercolor released into a glass of water.

There were times when I saw someone going through program after program because it was forbidden to use any confidential data....or share it
There was a time I was despondent but could not HAVE that another being could come to 'sit' in my space. This being's trauma was playing out relentlessly over and over and hurting my body. Being indoctrinated into the idea that there is only Flow 0 Causation, I could not Itsa. Scientologists gaslight themselves out of common sense that the 5th grade user of a Ouija board might have. No biggie. A hundred hours of programming because it had to be kept a secret that the auto-run was another being trying to clue me in. A nemesis from millennia past, had entered the picture.

Hubbard lectured in the 50a about machinery and implants used in keeping a free being suppressed. But, he seldom said he caught any of these spiritual Nazis who wanted you 'dead forever'. I guess he alluded to it....though nothing personally. Memory is a funny thing. It shields a person by dissociating and occluding behind walls, that which is too much. And the unwary person may get worse, wasting programming hours, when free life force is stolen away by making contact with some active living machinery.

I guess you are currently handling scn "drop outs". Do you do any type of auditing or counselling type procedures without necessarily mentioning anything specific. If it's personal just ignore - thanks

Long ago I was very trained and experienced as a grad V Scientology auditor, also studied the C/S series, was lead HGC auditor at the NY org, left because for all the hype of "having the tech for sanity, productivity, success, happiness and understanding", very little of any of that was in evidence around me, although at the time I attributed this to "people running their case on each other" and "out-ethics", rather than "the tech" being largely a fallacy.
Much later I found my way to the "freezone" the world of independent Scientologists, and I found that a much better place, and began my own independent practice. Then, over time, without being under the yoke of the organization and able to breathe freely, more and more I saw the cracks in "the tech". It had always subtly got under my skin, back in my days auditing for the org, that for all the supposed "case gain", and "advancing through the levels" that my PC's were still coming into their sessions with the same sort of "out-ruds", upsets and problems in their actual life circumstances, and that there was something wrong with "flying ruds to get them out of the way to run grade chart". Then later, being independent, gradually, so much of the "tech" principles and practices seemed more and more to be wrong. "Running power processing on Clears is deadly"? That made no sense to me, and I routinely ran power on clears dozens of times with nothing but success. "The state of clear" itself, as described to be? The more I observed and considered, the more that fell apart as a uniform and valid thing. "TR-3 and TR-4", and "don't Q & A with the PC, because their tendencies are meaningless misdirecting bank"? Nothing could be further from the truth-and that's why my old NY org PC's never advanced out of having the same old out-ruds - because what they were manifesting was in fact their relevant "case", and in Scientology that was swept aside with "flying ruds" to instead (mis)direct attention to Hubbard's own projections about everybody's (case) on his generic "bridge". The trouble with a generic approach is that there are no generic people.
More and more, as these things arose for me, I evolved my own approach and my own techniques, with really great success. E- meters were part of Hubbard's indoctrinating everyone- PC's auditors, C/S's in the belief that none of us were capable of recognizing or understanding what was happening in a person's mind, or what to do about it, that only he could do that, as stated in his manifesto, "Keeping Scientology Working", e.g., "We will not speculate here on how I came to rise above the bank" (As if). "Don't trust your observation, instincts or feelings" - which is remarkably degrading- "trust the meter". This really hit home for me one day, doing "OT II", and marveling at "the spectacular TA action on the meter" and all of a sudden realized how foolish I was being. I felt nothing in myself, nothing remotely life-changing was happening, but what had mattered above all else was "keeping score" by the numbers on the meter. That may have been the most pissed off at myself I ever was, realizing this all of a sudden, and I violently jerked the cans out of the meter and threw them against the wall, and that was the very last time I used a meter for anything. Yes, it could show a person's spiritual/emotional resistance to feeling something, manifesting as electrical resistance. But anyone who truly has a passion for spiritually healing others could sense so much ore and so much better by setting aside the primitive device. I spoke with entire roster of clients, and they had all come to trust and appreciate my work with them well enough to be perfectly ok with no more using a meter.
I continued to look, listen, observe, notice, intuit and evolve. Alan Walter's "Knowledgism" was a "Scientology 2.0", superior in every way, including addressing relevant things that Scientology had nothing for. Alan had some brilliant insights, ideas and approaches. But even then, over time, I noticed some flaws, some superficiality, an obsession with long-winded procedures and indoctrination in his projections of existence, and his effort to out-Hubbard Hubbard, in some ways being of the same or similar mind. As I continued (and always will continue) to change and evolve, and leave behind ideas, principles, approaches and techniques for better ways, there were several ideas and bits of things from Alan that have born great fruit as I reconfigured, filled in gaps, expanded, etc, along with everything else that arises for me as I continue.
I don't use and Scientology processes today and haven't for several years, as they are all outmoded by my ongoing approach and techniques. But many people who had invested decades and fortunes in Scientology and "going OT" have been seeking me out in part because Ive had such a great past reputation as an "auditor", I can speak the language, know "the tech", and can well understand and respect their journey and their feelings, and most importantly, I can facilitate their accomplishing what they hoped, thought and/or expected Scientology to help them to become or accomplish in our first session or two most of the time.
I've called my practice "Therapeutic Spiritual Counseling", but I'm in the process of rebranding as "The Gelfand Method"- not my own idea, but that's the name some of the people I've been training have told me that's what they call it, and when I found that out I had a talk with my marketing/IT partner, and we agreed it was the better designation.
I don't want to use ESMB to promote, that's not what its for, so if you're interested you can check out my website dexsessions.com and/or my videos on you-tube, and you're welcome to contact me through my website if you'd like.

Ugh! "Illegal PC": Someone who actually needs help.
The “illegal PC” label is totally abused in Scientology.
if I worked for black ops in the military - but only worked in the capacity of an office staff member
I’m in a “illegal PC”

This actually happened to a Scientologist
After buying the bridge, and I mean all of it to secure the PC’s future because the reactive mind doesn’t want you to get better…
The PC was brought up the bridge just enough to drain most of the money on account
Then the PC was given in our factor by the case supervisor
They must go to an advanced Org to find out what their next step is
The PC went, the Advanced Org did enough auditing to take a use up a large chunk of money
Then the PC was sent to ethics

The MAA reviewed the background of the PC
Have them define illegal PC, Clay Demo it until the PC had total conceptual understanding

Then the MAA question the PCs past military background
The PC cognited that they worked in black ops
And ask the MAA if they were An illegal PC
They did not think they were because they only worked in the office capacity
The MAA requested that they review the definition
And to take enough time to totally understand it
So that the PC admitted they were an illegal PC and they could not have any more auditing

Then the carnival barking vultures also known as the registrars for the various front groups kept the PC up all night draining all money on account

True story

And this is an example of how Hubbard talked out of both sides of his mouth: In Scientology, it is said that "Purpose is senior to policy", and as the purpose of that application of the illegal PC" policy was to protect the organization from moles, and this PC clearly was no mole, he was there for nothing other than legitimate reasons, and that was obvious, and Scientology's purposes aligned with his.
And in my personal experience, when the org went several weeks without paying me my auditor bonus money, and I was promised I'd get the back pay when the income recovered, I was then shown a policy that banned back pay (never mind Scientology's "senior policy", i.e., "We always deliver what we promise".
Scientology's policies are arbitrary, because frequently they conflict, and the policy that gets applied is whichever one the person in charge finds personally expedient.

Hi Dex - Thanks for the extended reply. Wow - there's a lot to think about there. In years past a lot of people on scn forums offered a helpline to people messed up from scn and I was just curious as to your approach which you did an excellent job of explaining. I'm in the minority in that I have no regrets about my scn experience and I would do it all over again.
I see you just posted a new video using The Gelfand Method title. You mentioned the snow coming down and I'm in New Jersey and also got whacked by the blizzard. I have more to say but I don't feel like doing it right now so I'll add some things later. Cheers

I just dug my car out of the snow, and just heard we're expecting two more snowstorms this week. Searching You Tube for videos on how to build a snow ark. :) Good to hear from you, neighbor

(Just noticing a few typos and redundancies that I thought I'd successfully edited, but apparently not, mea culpa)

I just dug my car out of the snow, and just heard we're expecting two more snowstorms this week. Searching You Tube for videos on how to build a snow ark. :) Good to hear from you, neighbor
When the last big snowstorm hit my next door neighbor found two young men on a town facebook page or something who came over and dug us out. They are coming back this afternoon to do it again. She had a really big job and paid them $100. They only asked for $40 from me but I gave them $60 since they did a couple extras and did a really good job. Much cheaper than a heart attack and it would have been a pain in the ass to do it myself. Lol

A friend said he bought an "ergonomic" snow shovel which transfers the load from your back to your legs and he dug himself out the last time without any major aches or pains.

Not as impressive as an ergonomic shovel that transfers the load from your back to somebody else's back, but they're harder to come by. :)

mental / physical disabled people who desperatly petitioned their illegal PC status. They were given PGM after PGM after PGM to complete, for years ..till they run out of their money, belongings, retirement funds and fall down into a profond despair,
That happened with my wife, who was deemed an illegal PC. Year after year of programs, until finally I decided

It's insidious the way sex is used to trip people up just when they've navigated towards the pinnacle of life events. Doesn't matter if it's doctors or actors or politicians or climbers in some religion. I wonder what's up with that. Maybe it's just that there are deep pockets involved.

Sex, for sure is used to interiorize a person. All the drama can create more withholds and harmful acts too. Trauma running of the things past, often reveals that some incident involving sex spurred a devastating change for the worse for a being. Sometimes a paradigm crash where futures are erased from the chalkboard. Money and sex are always hot buttons.
