Deliberations, day two: Can frustrated jurors get it done today?

In such case with multiple charges and victims, when deliberations are long, it is usually very defavorable to the defendant,
especially when the jury ask to see again what happened in the trial.

Thank you Lee for helping 😉

As far as the 45 years.....

Doesn't the Judge declare the actual Sentence......after the Jury convicts?

Unless there is some sort of Mandatory Sentencing Statute......doesn't the Judge have some leeway in Sentencing....?

Would the Jury be aware of this? I would think so....

In my experience... juries are barely aware of their ass with both hands. But, we'll see...

@lotus look backward another post ......there is a bit more info there. Don't know if you saw that.

Charged with 3 counts of "forcible rape."

View attachment 19617

Thank you Lee.
I checked with the mainstream medias and the charges are:

Masterson is charged with three counts of rape by force or fear, which could mean up to 45 years in prison if if he's convicted. At last year's ...

Thank you Lee.
I checked with the mainstream medias and the charges are:

Yes. I guess the variable is "up to" 45 years.

That works out to 15 years per charge.

And....it the Jury says guilty on all 3 charges... Plus....do the Sentences run Concurrently or Consecutively.....?

So ....IMO lots of leeway for the Judge on Sentencing.

He could be held Guilty on all three....and get only 15 years...if sentences run concurrently?

I guess.....if not Mandatory Sentences Guidelines...

.

I doubt any of them will want to deliberate during Thanksgiving week.

It's funny how those things kind of just magically work out in life.

Before Thanksgiving a verdict!

Kinda like suddenly having a REALLY HUGE COGNITION & WIN in the last couple remaining minutes of your 12.5 hour intensive.

...

I've only been paying peripheral attention to the trial and not
the blow-by-blow daily details. Preoccupied at the moment
with real life.

My prediction, irrespective of "cosmic justice" . . .

He walks on this one. He said, she said from 20 years ago
is gonna be hard to send somebody to the slammer for 45 years.
Someone on the jury will hang it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Heck, we can't get a group of 12 to agree to put all of the Masterson
trial comments and updates on a single master thread, instead having
to navigate around on possibly 400 different threads in the last two
years on this topic. :coolwink:

Even if your prediction comes true Masterson is not out of trouble yet.

CONFIRMED: David Boies firm now represents Jane Doe 2 & 3 in Scientology civil lawsuit

..

Yes, he's a scary killer of an attorney. Will clean out DM and DM. :coolwink:

PREDICTION: The financial cost to Scientology to settle Miscavige's and the church's liabilities is going to be both debilitating and horrendously catastrophic!

INFO: Debilitating and horrendously catastrophic to the cult's dumb donors, who will be regged mercilessly to cough up the "war chest that will safeguard the freedom of all beings for eternity!"

ADVANCED DETAILS: However, this will not cost the Church of Scientology nothing. Far from it! The COS will have to purchase some shiny bowling trophies to hand out. With the customized engraving this is going to be extraordinarily expensive and they might have to expend hundreds or even thousands of dollars in order to raise that next $50M to pay to the plaintiffs suing Miscavige and the cult.

..

I would be shocked if he were acquitted on any of the charges. IMO, he'll either be convicted or there will be a hung jury.
I'm expecting hung jury. I do not have any insider information, but I suspect a particular reason behind the decision of one of the jurors...

Don't laugh.

In a city where Antifa and BLM were free to burn, loot, and assault with little fear of prosecution, I can see a working class juror, looking at privileged high class women victims, and deciding

"If we are not safe, then you do not deserve to be safe either".

I don't see that. Why would he stick up for a privileged wealthy white actor over some less privileged white women?

If the reason is personal, then I would sooner suspect someone who just hates women or think all rape allegations are bogus without physical evidence. Not a class-conscious thing.

Yeah, there's obviously zero evidence of this, but it's been in the back of my mind too. I don't think there's a sum of money that Scientology wouldn't pay to make sure there isn't a guilty conviction. Of course they want the not guilty but a mistrial is still light years better than a guilty verdict. I'm sure Masterson would also be willing to kick in some money, but if something like this were going on I don't think he'd be in the loop. Remember, Scientology and Scientologists are saving this sector of the universe, what are wog laws, morality, etc. compared to that? A guilty verdict would be a massive blow to Scientology, they will do whatever they can to prevent it.

He would not be in the loop. Bribing jurors is a serious thing. They would have it be done by someone from outside the US, who would immediately leave the country afterwards.

There's no evidence either way, but that would seem to be the logical next step for OSA. If the legal defense seems not to be going well, then they can always try to throw some money at the jury... and scientology is made of money.
