The Danny Masterson Trial thread

I genuinely believe that Scientology can cause a person to suffer temporary insanity. If I was Masterson's attorney would have had him plead "not guilty by reason of insanity".

That might work in a "during a fluke of rage he killed his son" type of case.

But in Masterson's case, that would be repeated bouts of temporary insanity each causing him to drug and then rape a young, attractive female.

Feels a bit too convenient and too pre-planned to pass the smell test imho. I think they will be better off trying to prove that the accusers are making this thing out of whole-cloth for money, as in the J.Depp case. I mean that's what I would do and it coincidentally fits into Hubbard's "attack & never defend" kill-them-with-malicious-rumors-and-black-PR policies.

If there's one thing scientology can do is to provide dozens of witnesses to say how promiscuous, uncontrolled, crazy, greedy, deceitful and untrustworthy these accusers supposedly are.

The trick will be not to produce these witnesses, but to make them sound natural, believable and not tip the jury off that something is afoot here. Frankly, jury selection will probably be key. Danny's side should do their worst to get the dumbest jurors they can get. Then dazzle them with these waves of "character witnesses" and testimony of "previous bad cats" by the alleged victims.

@HelluvaHoax! post up thread about lawyers conduct regarding perjury…..

Is it possible this is why Masterson has changed lawyers a few times? ( if he has… I haven’t kept track )

True, it would not work in Masterson's case for the crimes he was charged with. Some other time I will provide examples where I believe it would have a chance of working. But I'm trying to minimize my typing now as I've got tendonitis in my wrist and I'm supposed to rest it.

Yeah, I’ve heard that strangulation you can’t declare temporary insanity because the length of time it takes to strangle somebody with your hands you would come to your senses and realize what you were doing so yeah there’s certain things that you certainly can’t declare insanity for.

What if a Scientologist strangled someone because he was applying what he learned in the "scriptures", say for example "The Responsibility of Leaders"? After doing an eval he realized that murdering one of Scientology's perceived enemies was the greatest good and was necessary to save this sector of the universe.

I'm sure that Davey couldn't care less if Danny goes to jail or not. As long as the cult doesn't get a PR black eye and is kept out the spotlight, Dave should be happy.
I think Miscavige's nightmare scenario is if some abused SO member gets on the stand and says "I've been being held against my will. I was instructed to lie to you. I will tell you all I know in exchange for sanctuary".

Don't laugh. I could actually see that happening.

There is going to be massive coverage!

Well....not as big as the OJ trial.....that was huge. But still massive....

I happened to be downtown LA during the OJ Trial. The big Broadcasters had build 3 story scaffolding....with Broadcast booths on top.....around the Courthouse...

HellYeah!

The only thing I can imagine that might be a bigger bombshell is if THREE (3) newly cooperating witnesses were called by the prosecution:
  • Masterson's sec check auditor arrives pulling a cartful of pc folders containing metered O/W confessions.
  • Masterson's wife Bijou Phillips arrives saying she has written a 400 page KR on Danny's rape coverups and all the millions of dollars that had to be spent to keep rape victims quiet.
  • The Int'l Justice Chief Mike Ellis rides his bicycle into the courtroom and unloads the cargo basket that contains hundreds of hours of hidden-cam surveillance DVDs of Danny's ethics handlings where he gave time, place, form and event about all the rape victims he was "total cause over".
get

Ideally when Ellis pedals his bike into the packed courtroom
the "wicked-witch" musical theme would be playing.

I absolutely can see it happening as well. If one reads the LRH reference "Responsibility of Leaders", which is part of the Scientology Ethics book and was DM's favorite essay, it is clear that killing one's enemies IS part of the highest ethics condition, Power.

For anyone who hasn't already read this, Jefferson Hawkin's essay about this is must-reading:

The “Ethics” of Political Power: Scientology’s Worship of Ruthlessness

That would for sure hurt him like hell.

I think he'd probably weasel out of it with the help of lawyers, but it would be a massive black PR bomb. Anyone else in scientoloigy would swing for this sort of flap. But not Davey, oh no it would never ever be his fault.
