.......are you wearing two masks now? Or still just the one?

(I don't know why I'm being so bad. Oh okay, it's fun. That's why).
I don't wear one at all, but if directed towards Emma, it's a good question.

5. I'm busy and don't really have the time to fix that shit right now.
Then don't fix it.

You don't owe anyone anything that you aren't happy to give.

And I'd honestly prefer to never see old ESMB again then in the hands of anyone currently posting on the new ESMB, meself included.

Really though, my posts on this thread have been mostly for the purpose of J&Ding and having some fun. But, I realize that Emma may be at a place right now in which J&Ding isn't so much fun for her. Well, not on ESMB2, that is. And I understand that.

All joking and kidding aside, I really don't have a problem with how long it is taking Emma to get the original ESMB archives back up online. In fact, I'm okay with them never being back online. I wasn't going to use them myself anyway. I do know that it is very important for some here, and I understand why that is. But all in all it's not important for me personally.

So I'll just end off on this subject by saying: Emma, you just do what is best for you! If it proves to be too much to get all of that back online then don't do it. If it takes quite a few months or even a year or so, well, so be it. Don't overdo it if it impinges on your real life. You've given of yourself plenty over the years, and just know that you are loved and appreciated by so many for all of it.

Wow you guys can turn anything into a conspiracy theory. The forums will be returned. The forum is simply turned off for now because:

1. I have an insane anarcho-communist chasing me around the internet trying to find out everything they can about me. ESMB is full of that.
2. Search is still wrecked.
3. The update to xF 2.0 went ok but the formatting sucks.
4. I have a new hobby that doesn't involve Scientology. Instead I'm documenting crazy conspiracy theorists.
5. I'm busy and don't really have the time to fix that shit right now.

For most part, the only people that seem concerned about this are the very people who continue to trash me (with exceptions). The rest of you can fuck off with your Alanzo theories and other bullshit.

Why would I fix anything for you?

When I fix it I'll do it for myself. Not for you.

Hi Emma,

It's been a wild ride.

What you did was a service -a courageous service - to countless thousands.

There's nothing else like it.

We owe you a tremendous debt.

If you can regain access to old posts from ESMB, you'll see hundreds of expressions of appreciation to you from your readers.

Wishing you well. You have our love.

Hi, Emma!
Hi!

Thank you, Emma.
Ed
No worries Ed.

So what's new? Did you have any grandkids yet? What's ya been up to?
No grandkids. The kid called off her engagement. Probably for the best to be honest.

Then don't fix it.

Hi He-man! Thanks :)

Thanks Veda. Honestly you're one of the few reasons that I'd want to do the work. You and in Paul's memory.

No, not wearing a mask. Yes got jabbed x 2. No I didn't die - just a sore arm. Everyone I know got jabbed, no one died. Plenty I know did die - of Covid. All old people. They caught the virus from my aunt who went out while feeling sick. Gave it some of her friends. Three died and she was in hospital for 2 weeks. That's ok though coz the were old anyway - right?

No one I know has a vax injury.

Don't worry about replying, I'm not hanging around. I can be reached by PM or email. I'll let you all know when I've completed the work.

@Emma,

I remain much grateful for your contribution with making ESMB available to us; no matter whatever the vip members of the WW Order of the Conspiracist may spit...it does not change the courage you have proven, nor how it positively impacted the Life of thousands of people who were given a chance to see the light and think out of the box…
I wish you the very best for a peaceful life you deserve.

HI - why can't you move on? Leave the girl alone, she has a life and ESMB will or won't be resurrected as she feels is appropriate. Emma slayed a lot of dragons with ESMB, for which I am eternally grateful, and she has my blessings in whatever path she chooses. If you want to egg someone on, turn your attention to George RR Martin. Knowing how much Emma loved Game of Thrones, she would be eternally grateful if you could get him to finish Winds Of Winter.

.

It would be incredibly simple for Emma to simply turn over the CONTENT to ESMB(redux).

At that point there could be a donation tab or "gofundme" request set up to pay whatever is needed to techies—to do the tech transfer (importing/migrating it) or to set up a dedicated archive (separate website) for anyone on the internet to be able access the database. That would cost both Emma and P&B zero time and zero money. Easy solution.

I don't see why all the content has to be hidden, lost or otherwise unavailable--unless Emma purposely doesn't want people to have access to all the wisdom and entertainment and facts that she worked so hard to make available in the first place.

Emma, I think you would agree there is a ton of valuable info that can help a lot of people. Why not let it go to someone else if you don't want anything to do with it?

Hoaxer, with respect and speaking as a database-driven web application programmer and Internet server technician, I'm afraid you are dreadfully mistaken as to just how much effort, time, and cost might be required to convert and import the long out-dated XenForo database of original ESMB to the present format XenForo uses. All the posts, comments, and threads in the old database are tied to specific User records by ID numbers that are mostly already in use here on this site. The post, comment, and thread records all use ID numbers that are already in use on this forum as well. That alone would be a major roadblock to importing the old content. :(

I'm not a technical person but why couldn't the locked ESMB that existed before it went off line just be activated again?
Nobody can post or comment or add or delete, but the material and the threads would be there to be read.
