Janis Gillham Grady and Mark Fisher recently reported at their YouTube channel that longtime Sea Org member Marion Pouw had died. Daily Mail Australia followed it up with a good piece about Pouw’s history in Scientology.
We’re more familiar with Marion’s sister-in-law, Scientology spokeswoman Karin Pouw, but Marion has appeared in numerous stories here over the years.
As the Daily Mail piece pointed out, Ron Miscavige referred to Marion Pouw and Greg Wilhere as two “henchmen” who were sent to track him down after his 2012 escape from the Sea Org.
And for a while, Mike Rinder pointed out to us, there was a three-person Sea Org team — Marion Pouw, Mike Sutter, and Hansueli Stähli — who, in the wake of the disastrous defection of so many top executives in the early 2000s that resulted in the “Truth Rundown” series at the Tampa Bay Times, were sent out to try to keep other disaffected members from speaking out.
They could be very persistent, as Ron Miscavige described it in his book Ruthless when Marion and Greg had found him following his escape with Becky Bigelow from Int Base…
