But, then they'll graduate to OT 8 and nobody will know who the hell they REALLY ARE anymore. The registrars can hit em up TWICE, cause they won't recall they've already been fleeced.

I wonder how long they'll keep broadly promoting the actual numbers, if a year from now they're at 10050 that might be embarrassing. I'd guess as long as they can keep the wave going they'll keep promoting it, but there's definitely an end of the road. GAT II and the Chase wave gave them enough fodder to keep going for a little bit, but they will start to run dry at some point.

If we are being completely unbiased and honest with ourselves, the Church of Scientology had no slightest need to create a NEW GAME and mandate a NEW TARGET (25,000). Here are the receipts:

1967: Dr. Hubbard successfully navigates safe passage thru the OT III (the "Wall of Fire"). First being in the​

universe to have done so! The end phenomena ("Freedom From Overwhelm") ensured that Scientologists​

could never be defeated or overwhelmed by their enemies. Thus, no matter how many millions, billions or​

trillions of years--the ultimate victory of theta beings vs. entheta beings was 100% assured!​

1981: Dr. Hubbard successfully releases OT VII ("Solo NOTS"). This is the long-dreamed-of force multiplier that​

would ensure that the planet would not be destroyed by psychiatrists dropping their nuclear bombs--or by a​

them to pull the air cover off this planet. Once pre-OTs could audit at home, it was only a matter of time​

By taking all OTs' attention off that already-overrun stat push, all Scientologists can get back to seriously focusing on the real challenge that will save the universe. Fund raising to build the "IAS War Chest" up to one trillion dollars.

I wonder how long they'll keep broadly promoting the actual numbers, if a year from now they're at 10050 that might be embarrassing. Given the long history of the CoS proclaiming that there are 12 million or more Scientologists, I have a feeling that the number of OT VII completions being reported by COB will continue going up at a pace where he won't be embarrassed.

Scientology is strange about stuff like this, yes they will manipulate things to put them in the best light but I don't see them outright lying. Or I should say lying more than they already do (counting all the dead, declared, etc. people in the 10000 number).

Scientology is strange about stuff like this, yes they will manipulate things to put them in the best light but I don't see them outright lying. Or I should say lying more than they already do (counting all the dead, declared, etc. people in the 10000 number).

yeah, i think things like this work their way up from the bottom where the minions may 'stat push' and take the truth to the breaking point, but don't want to be caught and punished for outright lying. they seem to me to be playing a sort of childish game of plausible denial, where it's not really a fib

like i think it was found recently that local orgs' BIS now includes anyone who walked into the org, and when those sorts of inflated numbers are collected worldwide it starts to amount to something that that can be made to seem impressive when it's not, like say a quarter of a million people walking into orgs every year when that's just what a measly BIS of 30 weekly adds up to over a year for all the 130-140 orgs.

i've seen accounts that maybe the millions of members is one thing int management PR people did just kind of pull out from somewhere. i bet though it started with some figure or estimate of how many people had come through their doors from inception through their heyday, more recently padded with some justifications like that everyone who'd been handed a WTH booklet could be counted, too.

Yeah, Scientology "stats" are also sci-fi.

The only way I know of to interpret stats that the cult promotes is:

Take the number and cut it in half (due to the initial figure being a postulate ideal number)
example: "WOW EVERYONE!!! WE'VE GOT 10,000 ON OR THRU SOLO NOTS!!!"

Than take the 50% reduced number and reduce it another 50% (due to numerical inflation
caused by scriptural mandates to always use numbers that are the "greatest good")
example: THE NUMBER 2,500 IS PROBABLY HOW MANY PEOPLE EVER ROUTED ONTO OT VII

Then compute 15% of that number and you have 375. That's probably the number of OT VII
completions still active in Scientology. BECAUSE WHO CARES ABOUT HOW MANY PEOPLE
TRIED TO ATTAIN THE MIRACULOUS ABILITIES FROM OT VII. ISN'T THE ONLY STAT THAT
MATTERS HOW MANY PEOPLE ACTUALLY ATTAINED SUCH MAGICAL POWERS?

Then multiply that number by zero (0). BECAUSE NOBODY EVER WENT OT ON OT VII
OR ANY OTHER LEVEL. Ergo, the 10,000 number is actually zero.

Surprise ending! LOL.

ps: however one has to admire the deranged audacity of cult members to be capable
of imagining supernatural sci-fi numbers and then selling those meaningless
numbers to each other. Even more extraordinary is that they then joyously
celebrate "huge wins" from lying to others and themselves!

I haven't heard of BIS counting anyone who walked in, but who knows, they are probably getting desperate.

Some things I do think are outright lies, like when they claim to have 8 million Scientologists, but that comes right from the top and no one except those at the absolute highest level have access to that information. If they start blatantly lying about OT 7 starts, well everyone at Flag will quickly know that it's a lie and it will spread from there.

You'd think the closer to the top you got the more reliable the data would be, in Scientology it's the opposite. Some org says they got two people signed up for staff or whatever, sure I believe that. At an Int event they say they are getting a first start every two seconds, no I don't believe that.
