Andreas Heldal-Lund, the much beloved Norwegian Founder of Xenu.net a/k/a Operation Clambake, passed away today January 2, 2024 at age 59.
Andreas’ passing follows his two-year long battle with an inoperable brain tumor.
Andreas’ contributions to exposing the Church of Scientology were monumental and he was internationally known for his work and his website.
Despite Scientology’s many efforts over 10 years to get xenu.net taken down from the early internet by threats of lawsuits to ISP’s, Andreas persisted and xenu.net remains online. Scientology tried to get Andreas fired from his job as a computer professional many times and also failed.
When the actor Jason Beghe left Scientology in 2008, he contacted Andreas who urged him to make a video with Scientology critic, videographer, and now Clearwater council member, Mark Bunker. The resulting video in which Beghe famously roared “Show me a motherfucking Clear!” went viral and has been viewed millions of times.
Andreas will be missed.
