my 2 cents from my own experience:

IMO, it’s the confusion and the dehumanization they enforce in our mind and soul, intented to make one looses her/his self determinism and some sense of dignity. (Soul rape as we are left with shame and confusion) Best way to have them fall into obedience with implanting trauma bonds. The soul is loosing the sense of feeling safe.

LRH did that,
Miscavige is doing that,
Rapists do that
And dictators and authoritarians …
Dehumanization!

They are small empty dark soul, fearfull of good , talented, capable, people…

I am sorry, but I went back into my peaceful retreat, to get some certifications, working in health care, submitted to a deontology code. I have wonderful, lovely, meaningful clients that happen to be Muslims ( the good one, not the radical haters) and I will also help any gay who ask help from me!

Thus I won't spend free time with a few haters here that spend all their time to hate and dehumanize them, day after day!
IMO, they still are in a cult mindset and I won't spent one minute of my precious life in attempting to cure them! They seed their mind with fear of others, hate of others,
with fearful GENERALITIES, and with blind faith and devotion in another insane narcissistic authoritarian they confuse with a savior!

Better things to do, especially as they are convinced they are the enlightened , the awaken and we all are blind and stoopid socialists of the left (Europeans on the bord)

I was not referring to Enthetan nor Lee, they have always been gentleman with me.

When you have time and and if are opened, I invite you take a look at shadow work on you tube.
Dakota Walker has crafted wonderful guided work to help a soul heal and integrate his shadows. This type of work tremendously helped me to heal deep traumas ( sec checks and escaping) from the Sea Org that I could not tell anyone..'Cause there are no words to describe such profound darkness...)

Hi @lotus, good to see you again.

After the 2020 election and Jan 6th 2021 I stayed away from this board for 14 months and didn't know if I'd ever come back. I did, eventually, and I find I can be here if I stay away from politics, which I have done for the most part.

My views, however, especially concerning a certain former president who shall remain nameless, remain unchanged.

And even the "haters" can be right about some things occasionally. I think it's important that we retain the ability to see each other as people, and not just as representatives of "the other side." If we lose that we're really in trouble.

I just started reading this thread and enjoying the videos. But now (shockingly) I see I have been personally named as a wicked SP. WTF? LOL

Seems that Guanoloco and Lee have also been declared SPs, Psychs and Enemies of Mankind, too! LOL

I see that Lotus (normally a lovely person) could not resist coming back to ESMB and stirring up this nice thread with trolling and derailing with her personal animosities and hate towards her "enemies" - - who apparently committed the unforgivable sin of not following her orders of who to vote for in American democratic elections.

I was surprised to see how easily Cat_Daddy got sucked into the derail and named me personally as one of the "enemies" even though i have nothing to do with this thread and very rarely even visit the politics thread. And before Lotus's guest appearance, Cat_Daddy and I have peacefully co-existed on countless discussion threads where they didn't feel the compulsion to single me out and go after me personally as some sort of evil force. LOL. But he/she sure erupted fast with nastiness--once Lotus began her unmotivated fire-bombing arson attack.

Looks like Pineapple is a bit more diplomatic and didn't personally name me in the "haters" that he hates. LOL.

Hum. I don't see them as haters. It doesn't bother me that some support Trump or Biden. I don't subscribe to either party. I have had my battles with some that post here, but I don't take it personally like some do. I think everybody has a right to their own perspective or belief and can express themselves as they wish. I don't take any of the "entheta" coming my way personally. I don't mind that many of my scientology friends still are active in Scientology. It's their choice. Live and let live.

I am sorry that many who used to post here have moved on. They added to the variety of the conversation. I think they took the comments personally, and felt attacked personally. Gadfly, Freethinker, and many others have left. I wonder how many have left. I was looking to find the poster who's name escapes me that posted her house renovations thread - she was very upset by the negativity. She's now referred to as deleted member 51. Did she change her name to that? Does that mean there has been 50 before her that have been deleted? If so, what a sad state of affairs.

Emma said she loathed the evolution of ESMB into the politics, and I can see both sides of her position. To discuss Scientology on and on get's boring. Since no aliens have arrived to drop off Hubbard in chains from his shenanigans at target 2, we are left with politics.

I had never heard that term before: In deontological ethics an action is considered morally good because of some characteristic of the action itself, not because the product of the action is good. Deontological ethics holds that at least some acts are morally obligatory regardless of their consequences for human.

What an interesting concept, and in opposition to Scientology's the end justifies the means mantra.

We live in polarizing times, but eventually the pendulum will swing the other way.

Lotus, I hope you don't give up on the board, and walk away like so many others have.

Here's my theory.

Modern day social interaction in 2023 is often kind of like the mockumentary "THIS IS SPINAL TAP".

But, instead, radically indoctrinated people's amplifiers only have two settings.

Either "OFF" or (when you turn the amp on) "11".

(nothing in between) ​

That's where the strident yelling and name-calling comes in (i.e. volume at "11"). And when that doesn't defeat the "enemy" (by convincing them or making them STFU)— the indignantly enraged party simply and immediately refuses to converse more and angrily storms away from the discussion ("OFF").

Near as I could figure out, while I was away she got into an exchange about Covid with another member whose name escapes me (he used a dog wearing a hat as an avatar) and made some remarks which could be construed as rather insulting. I figure that got her banned but she rejoined with a different moniker. The other member also disappeared after that.

I don't know the significance of the "51" in the name.

Oh, didn't know that Sheila left because of a conflict on a covid discussion. She is a cool contributor who always had a fresh voice and valued contributions.

Hey for volatile threads (e.g. POLITICS, COVID, GUN CONTROL, etc) there should probably be a 30 page long legal "Risk Disclosure Notifications" contract that ESMB members must execute before they are allowed to venture onto those discussion threads! LOL

Those kind of conversations/debates can turn diabolically ugly fast! But they seem so much fun before diving in! LOL.

Kind of like a young kid seeing an ARMY RECRUITMENT ADVERTISEMENT and enlisting. A short time later they are in Vietnam or Afghanistan ---inside a military hospital recovering from having a leg and an arm blown off from a landmine. Ergo, not really so much fun when you actually arrive at the body-strewn battlefield that the tv commercial didn't include.
