The "story" features the book “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health." For some unknown reason, the "story" omits the following passage in the book:

The sexual pervert (and by this term Dianetics, to be brief, includes any and all forms of deviation in Dynamic II [i.e. sexuality] such as homosexuality, lesbianism, sexual sadism, etc., and all down the catalog of Ellis and Krafft-Ebing) is actually quite ill physically...he is very far from culpable for his condition, but he is also far from normal and extremely dangerous to society...

The Advocate runs "Branded Content" (i.e., an ill-disguised advertisement) for Scientology. The Advocate is the oldest and largest LGBT publication in the United States.

The Advocate is an American LGBT-interest magazine, printed bi-monthly[2] and available by subscription. The Advocate brand also includes a website. Both magazine and website have an editorial focus on news, politics, opinion, and arts and entertainment of interest to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) people. The magazine, established in 1967,[3] is the oldest and largest LGBT publication in the United States and the only surviving one of its kind that was founded before the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan, an uprising that was a major milestone in the LGBT rights movement

How interesting. Perhaps the mission holder there hasn't read Science of Survival. Or maybe, they just don't care that the evil gay people are going to destroy them with their continuous overt acts. Just like they don't care about joining hands with holocaust denying homophobes if it means bodies in the shop, even if some of those bodies are brown.
