Important concept discussion. Consent to belong to a religion belongs to you. The cult believes you still are part of their jurisdiction such as saying to you need to go to A to E procedure. NO. The consent to belong to a religion belongs to you as determined by the Law Courts. Therefore it is important to resign in writing, magical words "I am NOT a Scientologist" After that it is FAIR GAME when they run their programs on you.

Controversial
A good job of piecing together a sequential format for Scientology's assumed right to adjudicate their own religious practices, however, the Supreme Court has no authority to adjudicate the authority or existence of ecclesiastical determinations. They can only decide upon those things which fall within their designated authority and ecclesiastical dogma is not one of them. They can neither deny or confirm the efficacy of ecclesiastical dogma any more than the IRS can declare Scientology a religion; neither can happen.

The Supreme Court is out of bounds concerning religion. They cannot decide yay or nay on religious dogma. They can only determine if rights have been violated or not as regards the Constitution, but cannot establish a buffer zone for religion based on the First Amendment as the First protects people, not religions.

The Supreme Court can decide upon commerce conducted externally to the united States of America, but not within it.

The Supreme Court is not Supreme over everything but only over it's specific objects and subjects. Religion is not one of them and religious dogma is completely without their scope.

Anyone who has an issue with Scientology is not barred from pursuing them under Constitutional rights. An organization has NO Constitutional rights as the rights were written for people, not organizations, religious or otherwise.

This is where Scientologist lose concerning the CoS, they grant it powers it does not have as the courts do not have. The courts were not created to determine rights, only injuries against rights. Only living people can have rights. Does David Miscavige have a right to abuse or swindle you? No.
