Scientology policy enabled years of child sexual abuse, lawsuit says

In the third lawsuit filed against the Church of Scientology and its leader, David Miscavige, in three months, a 25-year-old woman alleges she was repeatedly sexually assaulted as a child in Scientology’s care, including at the church’s Clearwater Academy.

On top of the abuse, the lawsuit explains how church officials allegedly knew it was occurring and did nothing to stop it or alert law enforcement, actions rooted in policy written by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

When the woman spoke of her alleged abuse after leaving Scientology in 2018, the church deployed a campaign of harassment against her, a tactic also based on Hubbard’s Fair Game policy aimed to destroy those labeled as enemies.

According to the complaint filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Wednesday, Scientology operatives cut the brake lines on the woman’s car, vandalized her property, followed and surveilled her, and harassed her with hundreds of spam calls.

The woman is referred to in the complaint only as Jane Doe for fear of more retaliation by the church.

From the article
The first time Doe was sexually abused in Scientology’s care, the lawsuit states, was during her two kindergarten years at Clearwater Academy on Drew Street in downtown Clearwater.

The lawsuit states that on multiple occasions an employee: forced Jane Doe and other young girls to perform sexual acts on each other; masturbated in front of and ejaculated on Doe; and, on at least one occasion, forced his penis into her mouth.

This is a predictable byproduct of Scientology neglect.

They can't send their kids to regular public schools, where they could be "exposed to entheta" (or worse, reveal embarrassing information about Scientology to outsiders). So they need a Scientology school.

But they are not going to pay competitive salaries to the staff. So what kind of staff will they get? They will get at least some staff whose reason for wanting to be around kids is so they can molest the kids, and who will accept low pay in exchange for the opportunity to molest. And the execs realize this, but accept it as the price of operating within the constraints they have.

This is great news indeed!

"We've seen what can happen when there is truth exposed in terms of child abuse within organizations. You've seen it with the Catholic Church, you're seeing it with the Southern Baptist Convention now. We're hoping for meaningful change."

Ah well. Here's a toast for meaningful changes!

To Jane Doe, I hope you get closure, and that the best things will happen to you in life!

As I said earlier, the abuse and neglect was built into the structure of Scientology life. Your own children would be considered a distraction from "getting the stats up" and "getting tech and ethics IN on the planet".

I remember, back when I was a staff member at an org, a friend pointing out to another staff member that her daughter (about 13) was functionally illiterate, and the staff member replying "It doesn't matter, she's just going into the Sea Org anyway".

OSA thuggers & trickers are not what they used to be. In the Golden Age of coverups, they would have bought-up all the copies of the newspaper before anyone had a chance to read them.

Yes, in Clearwater they used to send "missionaires" out to all the newsstands and daily paper vending machines to remove all evidence by BUYING & BURYING all copies.

Over the years, I don't think they even recycled the millions of pages of newspaper to clean windows, so there's that "crime" too, lol.

I think most of the staff down there don't speak English as a first language, anyway.

I was actually invited to a wedding in Saint Petersburg, Russia in June of 2020. Any chance of rescheduling that meeting until then?
I'd like to hang out with you both for a bit.

I promise not to take any recording devices to the secret meeting. :innocent:

Three of my grandparents were born in Russia. Well, technically speaking, just two. My mother's mother was born on a ship leaving Russia.

But I didn't have anything to do with rigging the 2016 election. :coolwink:
I'm going to do an Alanzo here, "But you know it was rigged?"
