Thanks. Just now I randomly opened up to a page and it was just as awful as I remembered.

Take a look at the SCIENTOLOGY passage compared to the BIBLICAL passage. There is supposed to be a direct correlation of meaning. But there is none.

Deranged! LOL

SCIENTOLOGY QUOTE (from "The Factors")
24. And the viewpoints are never
seen. And the viewpoints consider
more and more that the dimension
points are valuable. And the viewpoints
try to become the anchor points and
forget that they can create more points
and space and forms. Thus comes about
scarcity. And the dimension points can
perish and so the viewpoints assume
that they, too, can perish.
25. Thus comes about death.
BIBLE QUOTE
St. John, 4.
14. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I
shall give him shall never thirst; but the water
that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water
springing up into everlasting life,
St. John, 8.
38. Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living

The scn book covers of that period were weirdly evocative. Besides the R6 god, there was the withered tree on the cover of SOS, the woman in the bear suit eating the drumstick on the cover of COHA, and others. They did have "a certain demented beauty." I wonder who drew them. Does anyone know?

I'd say whoever it was displayed some actual artistic talent. Unlike those horribly amateurish photos by LRH in The Volunteer Minister's Handbook. I was on staff when somebody showed those to me for the first time, and they thought those photos were really good! I kept my TR's in, but inside I was cringing and going, "Oh, no!"
Not me. I was such a brainwashed cultie that I thought Elron was a genius and that he was singlehandedly working out a new style of photography all his own, with its own characteristic look and lighting.

If anything, it goes to show what you can do and what you can justify if you are in a cult.

It's just as easy to publish hardback as it is to publish softback through both Ingramspark and Amazon KDP. That's what I did. Most people buy softback or digital (kindle, iBooks, etc.).
Thanks. My friend spent years putting the book together making sure everything he wrote was fully documented with footnotes. Since it was local history he never expected widespread sales or making a profit and he said that as an historian who had worked in government most of his life dealing with historic building preservation he wrote the book for his own personal satisfaction. Of the 300 book run the college gave him 30 books to give to his friends and people who helped him along the way and he was and is totally happy with the way things worked out.

He's now just finished a book about a specialized architecture style called "pattern brick architecture" which is patterns, pictures and so on built into the brick facades of buildings and it's almost ready for publication.

Thanks all. I think I’ll sign off this thread for now to let it all sink in. I really appreciate the support and info you all have 😇. I’m sure I’ll write something at some point—I like writing.
Good idea! You've certainly been getting a lot of advice and feedback. Lol

I left scn in 1980 because of the price increases and never paid any attention to what was going on after that. When I started reading the scn blogs in 2015 after watching the HBO movie Going Clear I spent weeks diving into the conversations going on and finally started posting comments. I was able to sort out true from false and fact from fiction in my scn experience but it wasn't that hard for me since I never experienced any abuse.

On page 3 of the PDF I linked to for Scientology and the Bible it describes the booklet in this way:
A Manifest Paralleling the Discoveries of Scientology by L. Ron Hubbard with The Holy Scriptures.

That indicates it IS a comparison, implying a similarity between the two, doesn't it?

Yes, and in the PDF (free) download of SCIENTOLOGY & THE BIBLE, there are two (2) columns. In the left column is the Scientology scripture and in the right column (next to it) is the Biblical scripture that is supposed to be the equivalent. I have a temporary glitch in uploading images but when my system comes back online, I can post a screen capture of it.

For anyone wanting to see examples, I suggest a good "starter-page" to open is PAGE 11 with references from the AUDITORS CODE and entirely ludicrous Biblical scripture that is supposed to be the equivalent. As I mentioned, it's not only hilariously incomparable, it's deranged! LOL.

EDIT: Wait! My system just came back online, here is that page 11. Enjoy!

I think it's time that SCIENTOLOGY AND THE BIBLE gets updated and re-released.

There are so many Biblical verses that weren't even mentioned in that 1964 booklet where the Scientology and Biblical scripture are virtually identical! Here's an example:

Matthew 19:6
6. "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore
what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Scientology 8:8008
"All students must purchase two e-meters. Therefore
what Source has commanded, let no one squirrel."

Whoever put that little booklet out comparing scn to the bible should have been declared on the spot the second they submitted it for authorization.

Complete idiocy. Hubbard probably blew an entire switchboard of engramic fuses when he found out about it. :D

Ron handled that when he arranged to send Mary Sue Hubbard to federal prison and disconnect from her.

(ref: See PDF LINK of the 1967 "Scientology and the Bible", the 2nd page of which has an introductory quotation about religion by Mary Sue Hubbard)
