From: Michael A. Hobson - Former Staff

Subject: Disconnection From The Sea Organization
of the Church of Scientology

Dagne,

This is to formerly notify you that I will no longer
knowingly receive or originate any further communication
with Sea Organization Staff or representatives.

Please cease any and all attempts to contact me by any
means, telephone, mail, e-mail or in-person. This applies
to yourself personally and to any other member of the Sea
Organization of the Church of Scientology.

The telephone you tried to call me on last night after
9PM does not belong to me and I never gave it to you as
a means of contact. You woke the non-Scientologist owner
of this house from whom I rent, who goes gets up around
5AM and goes to bed around 7:30PM or 8:00PM. That line
is her primary business line during the day and I may
not receive calls on it.

As for the reasons for disconnecting from *you person-
ally*, the foremost are these:

(1) you falsely accused me of having "publically dis-
avowed Scientology" for posting in a PRIVATE forum of
other former Sea Org staff members *only* and then did
your best to get me to persuade me this lie was a true
fact by twisting reasoning, abuse of the English language
and the standard meanings of words ("public" and "private"
are two different things entirely), etc.

Up until now, I have never "disavowed" Scientology, The
Church of Scientology nor even the Sea Organization -
publically or in private.

(2) you then attempted to persuade me to act as a spy for
the Church in the previously mentioned *private* forum
as a means of demonstrating I truly was applying the
Ethics Conditions and asserted authority to approve
and censor my communications therein.

I refer you to Scientology 0-8 and the Creed of the
Church of Scientology:

"We of the Church believe:"
"... That all men have inalienable rights to think freely,
"to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and
"to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others."

L. Ron Hubbard gave you no such authority over me and my
communications and disclaimed such authority for himself
or anyone else with the above. If Ron Hubbard himself had
ever tried this crap, I would have told him to go to Hell,
and that is what I am tell you.

(3) you told me yourself that you had not seen the traffic
in the Yahoo XSO forum, yet sight-unseen, you classified
everybody in there as "persons attacking Scientology" and
then saught to persuade me that they are all "criminals"
by citation of policy. The notion that there could be
persons who uphold the Scientology(tm) applied religious
philosophy and it's technology but who do not agree
with the actions of the Church under the domination of
the Sea Organization seems to be completely and utterly
outside your reckoning.
you.

(4) on the basis of the above and God-only-knows what
else, you conspired with the AOLA Public MAA (and I'm
guessing, with whomever is serving as controller for
the plant(s) in Yahoo XSO group) to force my two best
friends of over five years abruptly DISCONNECT from me
with no warning.

(5) by all of the above, you absolutely demonstrated
to me that - contrary to the PR line that has been
forwarded that the "all the assholes are gone now" and
"we don't do things that way any more" - in actual fact,
the situation with regard to Justice is as bad or worse
as it ever was.

I don't expect you (or any of the rest of the persons
who happen to read this document) to believe or understand
any of this, Dagne. I expect that you (or they) will
convene yet another sham Committee of Evidence and use
this document as conclusive proof that I am a Suppressive
Person, declare me as such and expel me from the Church,
and then tell all my friends what an Evil, criminal,
son-of-a-bitch I turned out to be all along, most likely
using information from my "Confidential Confessional
Formulary" and whatever other discreditable things you
all can come up with.

My true friends know me well, and if you do that, it should
adequately serve to put them on notice that your Justice
system deals in falsehoods.

Whatever it is you do, don't bother informing me, as this
is the last communication I intend to have with anyone
connect to the Sea Organization until such a time as you
all get your act together and represent the Scientology
religion and philosophy in truth and not in name only.

As for the consequences of "being denied the OT levels
forever", that is far too similar to my old Christian
Fundamentalist ministers telling us all how we were
going to "burn in hell forever", if we didn't obey God.

You people are not God, you don't speak for God and God
has not left you commmand of the gates to Eternity, no
matter what you believe.

Some day in the far future, you may come to realize this.

Good Luck!

Michael A. Hobson

P.S. - the people in this household are all non-Sciento-
logists, although they are all very good Christian people
and my friends if anyone shows up here and creates a
scene, it is going to result in bad PR for the Church, so
please don't.

Are you sure you have total certainty that---"Hubbard never claimed such authority for himself or anyone else"'? Would it be okay with you if I shared your contact information with someone who can help expand your ARC triangle with a rather illuminating "r-factor"?

Or, in addition to your letter of disconnection to the Sea Org, did you also declare/disconnect from Paulette Cooper too?

That title in my post signature lines establishes that I am actually qualified to speak about the Sea Organization, unlike a number of ESMB regulars.

Even after you renounce it? Saying you are a member, former or not shows pride in having been one. So what is the purpose of your renunciation?

I don't make any claim of ever having been a member of the Sea Org but I don't have to have been one to know what membership means, even if I don't know the details of that particular membership. It's still a membership.

Give him a brake. He stated he is an ex-SO member, that is just a fact. That alone does not mean he is proud or supportive of it.

I think you are reading too much into a simple: "I was there" statement.

I still mention my auditor qualifications, that I attested to Dn Clear and was on staff for 6 years. It's not that I'm proud of it; it's just to show the extent of my involvement and knowledge of the subject, that's all.

I have been on this board only a couple of years, and it has taken that long in my experience for someone to show up and say something of this nature.

Congratulations!!

For better or worse, you are THAT GUY!!

What is it that you want to speak about?

The sharing of info between PAC ethics and OSA at that time was "problematic" to say the least.
"Problematic" to whom?

Certainly not to the people at the top. It was part of the design of Ethics.

"Ethics" was NEVER designed to be of benefit to the Scientologist.
Only to Scientology stats.

HCO POLICY LETTER OF 18 JUNE 1968 - ETHICS
"The purpose of Ethics is TO REMOVE COUNTER-INTENTIONS FROM THE ENVIRONMENT"
Also HCO POLICY LETTER OF l SEPTEMBER AD15 - ETHICS PROTECTION
"In short a staff member can get away with murder as long as his
statistic is up and can't sneeze without a chop if it's down. "

It was always about making income for LRH and DM. Somebody who was making money for Scientology was allowed to screw over other Scientologists without consequence (as long as what he did, did not create an "Out-PR" situation which might out-weigh his contribution).

It was problematic to everyone involved, because info was not shared and thus investigations on both ends were hindered. Not to mention redundancy ("oh, so you worked on this same guy for the same things at the same time? You already talked with him?! Wow, no wonder he was so suspicious when we came for him!").

I do disagree that the point was to make more money. The lack of cooperation between the enforcement segments did not make more money, if anything it cost scn money because it made all cases harder. Including "falsified stat" cases or financial cases.

The point was not money, the point was more control. I agree with you that by all evidence it was all by design. Dave wanted to keep the various "strong arm" elements of scn separated and conflicted, so they would be less likely to conspire against him and form some sort of coup.

.

Logical fallacy.

Having been in the Sea Org doesn't establish you are "actually qualified" to speak about anything. The mere fact that you were credulously duped into signing a "Billion Year Contract" is hardly proof of scholarship.

A person who was in the Sea Org could be knowledgeable or just as easily a complete and utter buffoon when it comes to both UNDERSTANDING and TRUTHFULNESS. You spent years promoting Marty Rathbun as some kind of exceptionally "qualified" expert, but he was in fact a vicious back stabbing liar.

It's rather stunning that you still think that signing your name to a billion year contract requiring servitude to a hoax gives one either status or credibility. This is why during Charles Manson's murder trial the defense did not call "expert witnesses" that were loyal members of the "Manson Family".

"Take a survey of 10,000,000 random people across the nation
and ask them 'WHAT IS SCIENTOLOGY?'. It is a scientific certainty that
the people who know the LEAST about Scientology are the Scientologists."

Independent Scientologist? What is an independent Scientologist exactly? Please explain.

By the way, there is no such word in the English language as publically.

Who cares? Why do you believe your disconnection is important? Why do you post it here, now? How does this improve your, or anyone's, life? I can't see any reason.
Publishing letters of disconnection to the Church of Scientology used to be a sort of religious ritual quite popular amongst "Indies". A rite of passage, so to speak. Remember when Rathbun's site use to give those disconnection letters top billing, front page headlines, above the fold! LOL

it's paradoxical hot mess to blow from Scientology by applying standard Scientology tech. I finally gave up on understanding that bizarre concept when my monthly bills for clay purchases exceeded my income.

TheSneakster,
Good job. Hit 'em with a good dose of truth. I did something similar when I left the church (12 pages worth). I think anyone who is leaving should do the same. Eventually one will pierce their armour of ignorance.

Ignore the naysayers, they will find something wrong with anything.

Actually, since I would assuredly rank amongst the "naysayers" you lament, let me speak up on behalf of IAN, the International Association of Naysayers.

The issue of naysayers is not the write-up of all the things wrong with the COS that caused one to resign, that's quite normal and therapeutic---no different than writing a "consumer complaint letter" to a business with which one had a very bad experience. No different than posting a bad review on eBay or Amazon. And no different than posting criticism of the cult on an Ex-Scientology website.

The part that is peculiarly paradoxical is when the blower then writes up the condition of "Doubt" and does the formula per the hoax cult they just escaped. They fiercely reject Hubbard's fake technology by publicly disavowing and leaving his cult---but at the same time they still are applying his fake technology. They hate what conditions the tech produces but still want to "standardly apply the tech" per KSW. Absurd!

I guess the concepts of "gradients" applies, lol. On upper OT levels (OT V, VI, VII and VIII) Dr. Hubbard coined a term for it--"PARTIAL BLOWS". It's a phenomena where BTs blow (much like Scientologists writing their Doubt Formula) and travel a short distance, then stop. And they then scurry back to the Pre-OT who just audited them to a blow on OT VII and returned to their previous "assigned berth" inside the OT's body. They return because they suddenly realize that they can still get more auditing for free by sticking around and becoming an INDIE BT.

Seriously, it's not uncommon for a BLOWN SCIENTOLOGIST to make their escape with a hobo-sack dangling from the stick on their shoulder that contains sacred books/scripture by the spiritual scientist Dr. Hubbard.
