That's a number 6 for Tiphareth (the 6th Sefirot, Beauty).
Indeed I was wondering if the fact it looks like a Zero was intentional, as the Sefirot seems to be related to DAATH ... and didn't noticed it also looked as THETA. Sort of what happened to me when reading "Reality" instead of "Beauty" ...
Sometimes this kind of apparent visual tricks may lead to deeper insights ... I definitely feel Theta is related to Daath/Daleth and Tiphareth.

In trying to understand Crowley's Tree of Life diagrams in Liber ABA, it helped me to realize that similar diagrams are used in several systems of mysticism: Jewish, Christian, Hermetic. Variations of thought between systems is sometimes reflected in the respective Tree of Life diagrams.

Additionally, Crowley revised the attributions used by the Golden Dawn (Book 4, Liber ABA, p. 769).
Here's where Crowley put Theta: (The colored arrows and labels are mine.)

I can get the idea that in Christian philosophy for example, that a person "dies" and gets reborn in Christ. The "Eloah Va-Daath (God Manifest)" may reflect such a progression, but I'm not an expert in this.

In Scientology the effort is to become a "living embodiment of LRH technology" with Hubbard as Source. This is part of the religious fraud some Scientologists perpetrate when they promote that Scientology is compatible with Christianity.

Scientologists also promote that we're already in "Hell" and that Scientology is the way out.

The dark anathema to all that IS, has been "sedulously ignored". We look Outward, and not into the nothingness.



You said some pretty deep things Caroline. I'm amazed that you can so readily see the similar relationships between things. I'd been carousing Nightside of Eden within google reads a couple days ago. Kenneth Grant is a fascinating writer and deep thinker, and a bit beyond my ken.

In case I didn't make it clear enough in my earlier post, the coloured, indented text is Kenneth Grant's, from Nightside of Eden. I have found his books very helpful in these studies. I keep going back to them, especially Nightside of Eden, The Magical Revival, and Aleister Crowley & The Hidden God. Outside The Circles of Time is a recent find for me, also very interesting and relevant.

Crowley incorporated a lot of Babalon symbolism into his Thoth deck. His Key XI. card features the Harlot Babalon riding a seven-headed, serpent-tailed Beast.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Hubbard and Miscavige's lion and Crowley's lion/beast share a limp wrist. Crowley might have had Androcles' lion in mind, and DM had Crowley in mind.

Am reading the preface to Androcles and the Lion which you provided a link to. That is very interesting.

I always felt that Lion outside of ASHO was atrocious. That's if it remained the same one installed in the 80s.

I am not ambitious, and have never understood this passion for the dawn of a new age or any new world order. Those who are interested in sitting at the top of hierarchies are gifted with a lot of juice. In this case the juice is their WANT for exclusivity on a working spiritual technology.

I don't think Scientology creates a comparable adept to those of the past. Freedom is touted but one is forever tethered to what he owes Lol. Never Do What Thou Wilt or reveling in orgiastic creativity. Hubbard revised that part of his research.

Right. In my experience, there was no energy of the "primitive creative order" claimed, described or sought in Scientology. Some of the insiders at the top had a different experience.

More to your earlier remark that there is no "Do What Thou Wilt" in Scientology: our job of Scientologists was to perfect our understanding and application of Hubbard's methods. The people at the top of Scientology were the ones doing the Willing for us. Period.

Faith wasn't part of my auditor training or mindset. (Obviously the organization benefits from cloaking the E-Meter in religious terms.) I did have to depend on my auditors' ability to read the meter though, which, like my own ability, wasn't always perfect.

It was helpful to realize that Hubbard and Scientology were not the first to use galvanometers, as I had somehow come to understand. Shortly after I left Scientology I came across Carl Jung's Experimental Researches, in which he reviewed and documented some studies in word association and use of the galvanometer. It seemed to me that some of Hubbard's related material, including about false reads, could have come from that book. Research scientists still sometimes use galvanic skin response devices in their studies, btw.

Some may find this hard to believe, but it was not uncommon for NOTs pre-OTs to clear out entire civilizations of BTs in just one session. <I think this may be one of those CAMO moments.>

Nevertheless, I appreciated the Youtube video, with that mention of L. Sprague De Camp. De Camp corresponded with Robert Heinlein about Hubbard, Jack Parsons, Dianetics, and other relevant topics. His letters provide an interesting context to the subject of Dianetics between the mid 40s and into the 50s.

I could see where Carl Jung would want to search the subconscious for associations and their meaning. He had some acute observations about our spiritual operating software. He was scouting for the predispositions to have certain outlooks within human consciousness.

According to Hubbard, body thetans and clusters (of body thetans) get hung up because of their various misconceptions about time, space, and identity. This NOTs indoc material might help to clarify Hubbard's basic theories, which of course apply to all thetans, embodied or not:

Misconceptions of identity, time, place, form and event hang a thetan up. The only reason why a cluster hangs together is such misconception.​

A thetan can have a misconception of time, by having a wrong date for an incident. Or he can conceive that a past picture is “now”. Or he can have two incidents switched in time, and think the earlier incident is later, and think the later incident is earlier. Such a misconception of time hangs it up and prevents a blow. And you can get a blow by straightening out the time misconception.​

A misconception of place occurs when a thetan thinks something happened in location A, when it happened in location B. You can get a misconception of both time and place. E.g. a cluster gets a recent heavy restimulation. They think the incident was the restim, they made a picture of the restim and think that’s where it occurred originally - think the cluster was formed at the time and place of the restimulation. So they have both the time and place in error. This misconception of both time and place confuses them and hangs the cluster up.​

Misconception of identity. Thetan X thinks he was implanted in “Woof” (place) - but actually he’s copying the picture of somebody who was implanted in “Woof”. He hangs up on the misconception of identity (thinks he’s the other thetan), and misconception of event (thinks he was implanted when he wasn’t). ​

The whole reason why a cluster stays one, is misconception of identity, time, place, form and event - which is why Date/Locate works. The cluster is hanging in a time and space disorientation.​

​

That’s what louses a BT up, some sort of misconception of time, space, form and event or beingness. That ties them up and they are hard to untangle and blow.​

​

They can switch all over the place with identity: he thinks he’s thetan “A”, but he’s really thetan “B” mocking up “A”, and that will cause a stress - that’s probably the anatomy of stress.​

I haven't finished watching the above video yet, but I had to stop and make a comment. I like the great overview the guy gives and I also love his sense of humor. At about 43:30 he says, "Ron, you know, goes on to found the Church of Scientology and by the late 60's he's got a frikkin navy for Christ sake!" LOL

At the end of the video there is a nice recap of some of the pictures used in the presentation and some other pictures. I enjoyed watching that video.

To add: The guy trashes Hubbard but acknowledges him for being able to continue what he was doing even with an extraordinary amount of incoming flak. He also seems to say that just maybe Hubbard might have tuned into "a little bit of something" if I heard it correctly.

According to Hubbard, body thetans and clusters (of body thetans) get hung up because of their various misconceptions about time, space, and identity. This NOTs indoc material might help to clarify Hubbard's basic theories, which of course apply to all thetans, embodied or not:

Misconceptions of identity, time, place, form and event hang a thetan up. The only reason why a cluster hangs together is such misconception.​

A thetan can have a misconception of time, by having a wrong date for an incident. Or he can conceive that a past picture is “now”. Or he can have two incidents switched in time, and think the earlier incident is later, and think the later incident is earlier. Such a misconception of time hangs it up and prevents a blow. And you can get a blow by straightening out the time misconception.​

A misconception of place occurs when a thetan thinks something happened in location A, when it happened in location B. You can get a misconception of both time and place. E.g. a cluster gets a recent heavy restimulation. They think the incident was the restim, they made a picture of the restim and think that’s where it occurred originally - think the cluster was formed at the time and place of the restimulation. So they have both the time and place in error. This misconception of both time and place confuses them and hangs the cluster up.​

Misconception of identity. Thetan X thinks he was implanted in “Woof” (place) - but actually he’s copying the picture of somebody who was implanted in “Woof”. He hangs up on the misconception of identity (thinks he’s the other thetan), and misconception of event (thinks he was implanted when he wasn’t). ​

The whole reason why a cluster stays one, is misconception of identity, time, place, form and event - which is why Date/Locate works. The cluster is hanging in a time and space disorientation.​

​

That’s what louses a BT up, some sort of misconception of time, space, form and event or beingness. That ties them up and they are hard to untangle and blow.​

​

They can switch all over the place with identity: he thinks he’s thetan “A”, but he’s really thetan “B” mocking up “A”, and that will cause a stress - that’s probably the anatomy of stress.​

OK then, I guess Crowley put polarity into the 'tree'. It looks highly electronic in the graphic above. Almost like something you'd see on the console of an alien spaceship. The question is, IS there polarity in the sephiroh where there seems an evolutionary unfolding from one modality of God into the next? They certainly take center stage in the Kybalion.
