Drugs that enhance Scientology?

And the auditor knew Burroughs and his companion were smoking dope before session and he just let it slide? And violated the auditor's code by auditing over drugs? Umm ..., I find that something of a stretch. :hmm:
The auditor didn't know. Burroughs seemed alright in session and did not regard marijuana as a drug. When he discovered that Burroughs was smoking cannabis, he reported him. Burroughs, one way or another, completed Grad IV and Power Processing (Grade V), and then went to Scotland and did the Clearing Course at the Advanced Org at Edinburgh.

Burroughs thought of cannabis as more like tobacco or coffee, both of which were pervasive at St. Hill, where many were both caffeine and nicotine addicts.

ok, lots of scientologists drink coffee and smoke, and probably lots of scientologists had done drugs, and then the purif came out and also DM's say "No to Drugs".

What's your point Veda?

Hubbard used drugs and alcohol to "rise above the bank."

He mentioned drug-hypnosis in 1951, in Science of Survival, when he was telling people that second wife Sara had been drug-hypnotized by the Commies.

When people flipped out during auditing he'd blame it on the person having been secretly drug-hypnotized, or having been secretly injected with LSD.

He didn't much care about Scientologists using drugs like marijuana or amphetamines, until the mid/late 1960s, when he noticed that drugs resulted in reduced org income.

Then old timer Pam Kemp presented him with the Dianetic Drug Rundown.

As Scientology down-trended and became more body oriented, the idea of "using the body in any way you want" disappeared.

The upper levels became about (body) "somatics," and "body thetans," with Scientologists spending hours every day, for years, attached to a meter.

In the end, Hubbard was on happy pills starting about 1980.

myself would say Hubbard used drugs and alcohol to write, rhetoric style of Hubbard, about how he rose above the bank.

Lurker here and never in. Just wanted to say many many moons ago I did mescaline once and hallucinated for four days straight. I would NOT recommend it even for the curious. o_O:giggle::omg:

I once got so high on weed, Hawaiian brand, that I felt detached from the body, I thought I had reached Nirvana.

When I did scientology auditing, for some processes I too thought I had reached Nivana. It was like, no drugs involved and I am free from the body.

Turns out so what if you have a feeling of being free from the body. What does it matter if you feel that way?

There are many ways of achieving a state of altered reality. Some fun, others not so fun. Scientology falls dangerously into the latter category IMO. At least with drug enduced uphoria you come down eventually and you know why. I don’t think the same could be said about Scientology. Plus drugs are waaay cheaper than courses. :coolwink:

I can't find an exact quote in Naked Scientology but he does say he '>>remembered a bulletin that anybody who is discovered through auditing to be smoking pot will be turned over to the authorities... ("What kind of a fink outfit is this?" I hastily repressed the thought.)<<'

Frankly, at this point in time, no matter what accounts we have of other peoples stories, myself included, nobody has returned from death using dianetics or scientology, logically speaking.
