Did Hubbard Really Believe His Bull$#!+?

A footnote to my last post - Hubbard also was looking for gullible people to become adherents. When you see him saying he busted a bronco when he was a few years old, and many other similar guff, it's a threshold - while a gullible person would buy into Scientology and accept such, a critically minded person wouldn't. So statements like that, etc. would filter out a fair amount of the problematic people who would question his rhetoric, and cause dissent in the ranks of the faithful. When that didn't work, there was disconnection, PTS policies ( A-J ) to weed out the remainder.

It's interesting that he would resort to that, for if Scientology truly produced results, they would speak for themselves, and the orgs would be turning away people, unable to handle the volume.
