Crazy fun on Scientology’s private cruise ship in the Caribbean, still tied to the dock

Excerpt:

Since Scientology’s private cruise ship the Freewinds had its wings clipped when the pandemic hit, the church has only increased the flood of propaganda being sent to Scientologists, begging them to come to the ship, which has been stuck in port in Aruba since March 2020.

We’ve showed you a lot of that propaganda over the last year, which has included some slick videos that always give the impression that the Freewinds is still sailing the Caribbean like it used to.~~~ READ MORE

Interesting that once anyone flies to Aruba....they have to quarantine......( 10 days to 2 weeks?)
Prior to going onboard the FW.

It would be interesting to know if this is an Aruba Government Policy.....or a Scientology Cult requirement....

And......if so, where do those people stay? Is it a Government run facility? A privately owned Hotel? Or even perhaps a Scientology Cult owned facility?

That would be interesting to know.... Also how many people are going to the FW. There use to be some very heave requirements to go there....

Wonder if she could be replaced at some time. Could be a new way to get more money from the whales!

ANSWER: Yes! And the good news is you are invited to a very special VIP briefing on the new IDEAL SHIP the church plans to buy!

Easily big enough to house 10,000 public! But with triple occupancy in each room (bunkbeds) the ship can hold a crew of 2000 staff as well as ALL of the worlds 20,000 Scientologists at the same time!

And best of all, it is a "TOTALLY SAFE ENVIRONMENT" which is the only place on the planet safe enough for people to read the OT VIII materials that explains that the pre-OT doesn't know who they really are---but that they are now curious to find out.

The new fundraising project and ship need a new name. Any ideas?

I'll start the suggested list of new names. . .

"THE FLOATING NEEDLE"

ps: the budget to buy her is only $1.5 billion and only
another $67M to do the remodel. However, when it's
finished planetary clearing will become a reality!

For the curious, that is the world's biggest cruise ship, "SYMPHONY OF THE SEAS"

(wikipedia): "...she can accommodate 5,518 passengers at double occupancy up to a maximum capacity of 6,680 passengers, as well as a 2,200-person crew.[6] There are 16 decks for guest use, 22 restaurants, 4 pools and 2,759 cabins."

SUMMARY: Wow, 2,759 cabins! It's a great deal for Scientologists for simply donating the money to buy/remodel "The FLOATING needle"! The exchange they receive is a Clear planet and "a world without war, insanity and criminality!" And once the remodel is completed and the ship is christened/launched, the COS promises to generously provide parishioners with a written guarantee that they will reduce the number of the ship's reg offices from 759 to only 359.

it's a cult requirement, Aruba's official policy posted on their website is much less stringent. presumably scn is attempting to maintain a safe environment without requiring vaccination, and apparently not masks either -- which will work as long as no one slips up, and nothing unexpected happens or goes wrong.

from reports they put people up in a hotel, and have minders see to their needs. but it seems the cult does have some sort of facility on the island, likely a logistical headquarters for the ship and maybe berthing as well.

from the promo i've seen they've long had various sorts of seminars and courses in order to try to get more utilization of the ship, and now they are advertising all sorts of things including the purif, or simply coming to hang out and work remotely. it smells of desperation, and i suspect they are feeling out the market for a repaired ship or a replacement.

the picture at The Bunker today shows about 2 dozen people waving flags, mostly Mexican and Italian and Hungarian. like it seems with most things these days, little to no recent, detailed information is available.

Something went wrong in Curacao.
They themselves advertized Curacao as thir HOME PORT for years

>>>>>

WHAT IS THE FREEWINDS?

The motor vessel Freewinds is a 440-foot ship based in the Caribbean. Its home port is Curaçao. The ship, in turn, is the home of the Flag Ship Service Organization (FSSO), a religious retreat ministering the most advanced level of spiritual counseling in the Scientology religion.

Most people only go to the ship for a 1 week stay. To have to quarantine for 2 weeks would seriously cut into their volume. Or perhaps they put you on self study in your room (squirrel - no supervisor) while you wait. Only those going for OT VIII or have a good bit of money could afford to take that kind of time off to do ship services.

that, or they just got stuck in Aruba around the time the pandemic started -- and something went wrong that left them unable to ever leave again.

they were at a couple of other ports in February, but i can't see the couple of newer listings to figure out just when they ended up in Aruba:

When was that measles scare? Where was the ship berthed then?

Anyway.....that video that was posted last week of the Crane taking that guy off the ship in a Moon Suit....and the 2 guys on the wharf also in biological moon suits.....was really weird. Why would they take a guy off the ship with a crane....in a biological suit.....and drive him away in a van...if they are so careful with their quarentine.....and everything is ok with the ship and relations with the local government as far as Covid?

the link that i posted to ship info above, also includes news pieces about the vessel from that 2019 episode:

After a measles case was detected, the ship initially remained in quarantine on the island of Saint Lucia. On May 11 it docked again in the port of Curaçao, the base of the cruise ship.
what happened in the video, could just be part of scientology's pandemic cosplay for trying to maintain their self-quarantine, like if a doctor or Aruban officials had to come aboard for some reason. it looks weird, but then again that may just be normal for scientology.

come to think of it, maybe what got them jacked up as far as being able to move the ship, is that to renew certifications or make repairs, they would have had to let 'wogs' from the outside world on board, and couldn't reconcile themselves to that (or got stuck in organizational paralysis about making a decision), thus consigning the vessel to fall into being just a dockside hotel.

Didn't the Sea Org have some sort of Hubbard explanation that it should be "Fabian?"

I had to look that up....and doesn't really fit.....

But....I recall something about how the Sea Org should "act" as being Fabian...

Sorry, I don't have a Cult Management Terms Defined....or Tech Dictionary on hand....

Anyway.....an anchored ship that doesn't move doesn't seem much like an Ideal Sea Org situation...

Perhaps it was easier and less biologically risky than using manpower in this case I assume. Less risk of catching the suit on something and tearing?
Just a thought.

over at The Bunker there's a promo piece showing how they're advertising the ship as a destination, in this case for Christmas and New Year’s.

it occurred to me, could they be so unrealistic that they're testing the waters to see if they could turn the Freewinds into a hotel for members (and like they old days have people who stayed for months or even lived there), and buy a new 'ideal' ship for courses like OT8? i don't get how they allowed the ship to apparently get stranded with mechanical and/or regulatory problems to begin with, and why they don't just buy a modern cruise ship of similar capacity given that the market is currently in their favor, except that they're mired in indecision over difficult choices, like what they'd do during the months the ship would have to be in drydock, or even a really drawn out process like replacing an engine crankshaft.

here's what diligent researcher over at The Bunker posted about the ship's debacle:

PickAnotherID2 days ago • edited

Leaving aside whatever drydock work 'Freewinds' may need. she isn't going anywhere until she gets here Passenger Ship Safety Certificate (Form P) renewed. The PSSC is just one of the many Statutory (required by international law) and Mandatory (required by flagging country and countries visited) certifications Freewinds must comply with.
The PSSC covers, "Safe structure, Safe equipment and safe radio equipment for passenger ships" and certification shows the ship has been surveyed, and is in compliance, in accordance with regulation 1/7 of the SOLAS convention as regards:
- The structure, main and auxiliary machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels; the watertight subdivision arrangements and details
- The ship complied with the requirements of SOLAS as regards structural fire protection, fire safety systems and appliances and fire control plans
- The life-saving appliances and the equipment of the lifeboats, liferafts and rescue boats were provided in accordance with the requirements of SOLAS
- The ship was provided with a line-throwing appliance and radio installations used in life-saving appliances in accordance with the requirements of SOLAS
- The ship complied with the requirements of the SOLAS as regards radio installations;
- The functioning of the radio installations used in life-saving appliances complied with the requirements of SOLAS
- The ship complied with the requirements of SOLAS as regards shipborne navigational equipment, means of embarkation for pilots and - nautical publications
- The ship was provided with lights, shapes, means of making sound signals and distress signals, in accordance with the requirements of the Convention and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea
- In all other respects the ship complied with the relevant requirements of SOLAS
Passanger ships require annual renewal surveys.
- An initial survey before the ship is put in service
- A renewal survey once every 12 months
- Additional surveys, as occasion arises
Passed pre-COVID, SOLAS ammendments came into force on 1 January 2020 requiring changes to lifeboats and lifeboat launching appliances that Freewinds no longer meets. Until they are met, her PSSC certificate renewal survey cannot happen. And until it does, she cannot sail anywhere.
And this is just one of many certifications Freewinds will have to come into compliance with and renew before she can sail again. Such as the MARPOL ammendment changing the allowed sulphur limits in fuel oil used by cruise ships.

according to this posted over at The Bunker today, they are still advertising the holiday event on the ship. are they on top of finally getting quick repairs done to the ship, plus upgrades it apparently needs to be recertified, or have they so lost control of the situation that they're advertising events on a vessel that realistically will still be laid up by the time the date rolls around?
