Scientology Freedom Medal Winner Nation of Islam Minister Tony Muhammad prays to "The Supreme Being Named Master Fard Muhammad." This is shirk.

As the Learning Religions website correctly summarizes:

"The most fundamental article of faith in Islam is belief in strict monotheism (tawhid). The opposite of tawhid is known as shirk, or associating partners with Allah. This is often translated as polytheism.

Shirk is the one unforgivable sin in Islam, if one dies in this state. Associating a partner or others with Allah is a rejection of Islam and takes one outside of the faith."

Verse 4:116 of the The Qur’an (Muhammad Asad translation entitled, "The Message of the Qur'an") states:

"VERILY, God does not forgive the ascribing of divinity to aught beside Him, although He forgives any lesser sin unto whomever He wills: for those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God have indeed gone far astray."

This is what Scientology Freedom Medal Winner Nation of Islam Minister Tony Muhammad says:

Oops - If he just called Fard a Prophet he might have gotten away with it.

Praying to Master Fard Muhammad as a prophet would also be shirk, IMO. A Muslim should pray only to God. Muslims do not pray to Muhammad, for example.

Even leaving aside prayer, saying that Master Fard Muhammad was a prophet would be unacceptable to Muslims (albeit not shirk) because in Islam Muhammad is the Seal of the Prophets -- i.e., the last prophet; there can be none after him.

Islam has lots of do's and don't's or rules of conduct. A few years ago I saw a small paperback of the Koran in my local library. I had never read it before so I checked it out and was surprised to see it was written in plain English. Along with all the do's and don't's, God loves those who love God but if you don't love God you're in deep shit. I read about twenty pages and took it back to the library to get it out of my space.
