Reading my mind???

This video discusses recent discoveries in AI that interperts brain wave patterns into words. What I wonder - if I were hooked up to one of these machines - and I had song stuck in my head ( Today it was the Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands - the chorus ) would that infect the computer reading my mind? I wish there was a way to purge them from my head - they can be so annoying. Having a computer shop vac them away would be such a boon to mankind. How would I patent that? Humm.

Mims -- To get rid of a song that's stuck in your head, try imagining someone ridiculous singing it. For instance, you could imagine Elmer Fudd singing "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands." I discovered years ago (pre-scn), that this works for me.

I probably got the idea from hearing Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc. singing "Blues in the Night," "Night and Day" and other songs from the '40's in cartoons.

It doesn't have to be a cartoon character.

Hubbard, of course, recommends consciously "taking over an automaticity" like this, but he wasn't the first to do it (so I'm not plugging "the tech"). Hypnotherapist Andrew Salter recommended it before Hubbard. Hubbs probably read Salter's books "What Is Hypnosis?" and "Conditioned Reflex Therapy," published in the 1940's.

Just a suggestion.

That's funny, I seem to have been suffering from that quite a bit lately. I'll give it a try.

There is one thing though, what happens if it's an instrumental? I made the mistake of listening to the 'Harry Lime' theme (you know, the one played on a zither) a few months ago and I couldn't get it out of my head for days and days. I'm never going to listen to it ever again.

Well, you could try listening to this version of it. I don't know if it'll get it out of your head, but it's certainly ridiculous, so you should at least get a good laugh.

I'll skip the good laugh in case it sticks in my mind like the last version did. Thanks anyway.
