The cult of Scientology recruits furiously for Sea Org indentured slaves. Many facts such as no children, no pregnancies permitted are never revealed by the recruiters. And week after week new people sign up for a 1 Billion year contract !

The Billion years is because Scientology Inc want a binding commitment for future incarnations where you are supposed to report back (after death) and you are given a "leave of absence" for 21 years.

This is all taken very seriously.

According to the official story from the CoS he's not really on an LOA. He needed to discard his body because the research he was about to do needed to be done in a fully exterior state.

But this in no way excuses him from being out of communication for 35 years. According to Scientology "scriptures", he's not really located on Target Two or anywhere else in the physical universe. And there are no barriers preventing him from communicating with Scientologists, at least those who have the ability to communicate directly with a disembodied thetan which has been done routinely as documented in Advance Magazine. :coolwink:

So, while he is not on an LOA, clearly he is blown. He needs to be declared or at least be given a Comm Ev.

getting people to treat that as real is i think it's one of, if not the most, powerful control tools that the CoS wields -- and thus one of the most dangerous -- inducing them to falsely believe that they have a better future to come back to, which is then leveraged to get them to sacrifice the best interests of themselves and others in this life, and even to commit abuses and crimes. (if there is reincarnation it's obviously not what scientology is peddling, because in 70 years no one has ever come back in the way predicted)

that goes hand in hand with the implantation of false memories of past lives, often in which supposedly terrible acts were committed, which creates a false personal history and identity that is again used as leverage to sacrifice and perpetrate, and i would say is thus the closest thing to brainwashing that exists. (again, if there's a real past life or reincarnation phenomenon, it's not the obviously flawed or false one scientology holds out -- and leverages)

Also, because I'm not a morning person and I didn't like the idea of mandatory study time because I didn't like the tech and if I go without sleeping for more than like twenty four hours pretty much I have to make it up by sleeping more the next day or I'm just completely a train wreck
And those uniforms look pretty uncomfortable

So in other words, Hubbard discovered Scientology NEVER worked and one must discard the body to SEE if that works

For 36 years, Hubbard built and polished the lie factory that is Scientology. At the time of his death (1986) it probably is not a surprise that the round-the-clock factory shifts kept working without any interruptions.

Scientology is very good at manufacturing, selling and distributing lies.

In a sense, all Scientologists to a greater or lesser degree made that possible, even if their participation in the international hoax was nothing more than donating money to the "church" for their own "religious services" (auditing/training). And, in a more abstract way, all Scientologists also helped build the lie factor by spreading Hubbard's lies and/or by engaging in any degree of self-deception with those lies.

That entire chapter of how the "loyal officers" to Hubbard managed to continue the cruel fraud (after the greatest OT in the universe unexpectedly went mad and dropped dead) is a fascinating one. It's like a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle where some of the pieces are (so far) missing. I don't have a simple link, but if you are familiar with the ESMB contributor ILove2Lurk you will find a lot of inquiry, research and facts has come to light about the "Big Lies" of Hubbard were supported by the even bigger lies of his assigns, successors and cult-jacking new regime leaders like Minister Miscavige.

Too bad "Dr" Hubbard is still in deep space at his "Target II" scientific research center---so that we can't ask him some questions. Maybe we can arrange an Q&A session with Dan Sherman, the LRH "historian" or Minister Miscavige to give us a briefing. They wouldn't lie to us would they? LOL
