Don't forget the Hubbard said he was a just a writer, and yah he was, he was a rhetoric writer, he just left out the word rhetoric.

LOL

By your understanding of 'rhetoric' you must realize that ALL your postings about Hubbard's use of the same are your very own rhetorical writings!

When are you going to stop using your rhetoric on all of us?
The only rhetoric I am trying to use is explaining Hubbard's rhetoric, his use of logos, pathos and logos, for simplicity purposes. But even that is hard to explain.

How does one explain Hubbard's ethos, his logos, his pathos? It's very hard to put in simple terms? Everybody likes one shot explanation, but that ain;t true.

the rest of the What is Scientology link I provided is this, more rhetoric:

"Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being.

His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.

His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.

Scientology further holds Man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

Scientology is not a dogmatic religion in which one is asked to accept anything on faith alone. On the contrary, one discovers for oneself that the principles of Scientology are true by applying its principles and observing or experiencing the results.

The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom for all."
""Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being."

That's rhetoric

Oh FFS sake ... learn how to use the word rhetoric correctly (and while you're at it, learn what it actually means and who your friends are).
I was gonna remark on that. Is that Rhetoric being used as a verb? English is a very flexible language but that particular use strikes me as kinda wrong.

As far as me re-joining the $cientology cult, :bleh: :D:LOL::LOL::roflmao::hysterical::tvhappy:(n):poop:

Well your perception and mine are allowed to be different, I reckon.
People can look at the links and decide for themselves.

Around the time that Marty Rathbun caved, and made a deal with Miscavige, Alanzo also, for whatever reason, transformed into a clone of Marty.

Most here recognize that Hubbard was a manipulator, and one trick, in his bag of tricks, was manipulative language. However, manipulative language was only one of many tricks used by Hubbard.

And the degrees and types of manipulations would vary depending on whether they were involved in a franchise mission, Class V org, or Sea Org.

so Riddick, why is it rhetoric?
well Riddick, I think because Hubbard said we could up the bridge to total freedom, and be be a free being, without the encombance
that is the superficial definition. You have to ask yourself what does it actually mean? You have to ask yourself when did the word originate? And who originated it? And is it still true to this day.

The 3 elements of rhetoric are ethos, pathos and logos.

3 Elements of Rhetoric | christichaotic130 (wordpress.com)

If one were to read this, one might discover some things about Hubbards writing, and his big picture of the bridge to total freedom.

The only thing I am doing is providing a rhetorical analysis of Hubbard, Dianetics and Scientology. I think this link is a explanation. You just have to ask yourself how Hubbard fits in or compares.

I doubt anybody will actually read the links I provided, and some will disparage me.

I welcome debate, <snip>
Then why did you repeatedly ignore questions I asked of you in another thread where I challenged the points you made?

It seemed as though you were not at all OK with those who expressed disagreement with or challenged something you wrote. After you ignored questions asked of you several times I decided not to bother anymore.

I'm really warming up to this whole super study of Hubbard's use of rhetoric!!!

Let's investigate the 31 rhetorical devices and present three examples from Hubbard's writings and lectures to illustrate each and every one of them:
alliteration
anacoluthon
anadiplosis
analepsis
anaphora
antanaclasis
antiphrasis
antonomasia
apophasis
aporia
cacophony
chiasmus
dialogism
dysphemism
epistrophe
epizeuxis
hypallage
hyperbaton
Hypophora
litotes
meiosis
metaphor
metonymy
oxymoron
simile
syllepsis
synecdoche
zeugma

How about it!!! Who's with me? Does everyone want to have me carefully explain each and every one of these terms so you can admire my knowledge of rhetoric????!!!!
