This was the Re: Line of the Email. Why Columbus?

Good question, and it is certainly not answered in this promotional item….

Everything except the “Buckeye Cafe” is what every “ideal org” supposedly has.

Columbus claims they are a “Fully manned org” — what they are not saying is that Columbus is “Fully manned” by Sea Org members who were sent there because there were no qualified staff in the place and they had to do a “Grand Opening.” The Sea Org members were sent to “replace themselves” and they have not done so. There isn’t any real public in the org so nobody to recruit.~~~READ MORE

There isn’t any real public in the org so nobody to recruit.~
Scientology always depended on a steady inflow of new people, to replace the ones who didn't stick around. Now, there is no flow of new people, and the old people are fed up with having to retread actions... besides the old people getting old, and not having much money left.

Here are some additional facts.
2 years ago some 70 Sea Org members were plucked out of their environment , their spouses, their kids and shipped off by COMMAND INTENTION to Columbus, OHIO They had no staff just an empty IDEAL MORGUE, hence the SO solution.

There is a green on white policy that one cannot leave a SCN post without replacing yourself.

These 70 Sea Org members have not been able to replace themselves in 2 years so they are STUCK in Columbus against their will.

Since they were or are SO.....and they all had Posts...before they were taken away my Command.....

Then they have already left a Post without replacing themselves to go to Columbus...

I would imagine that some will blow....to get away from Columbus duties... perhaps many will...

I saw the Thread Title and thought this was going to be about Christopher Columbus.... so a little spinny about that ...

So....I guess the question is not answered. Why Columbus Ohio?

Anyone know? What is so important about Columbus Ohio to pull off 70 SO Members...?

The Flag Land base has a lot of extra recruits who are lied to promising them they will be "Super Power auditors" and receive "Super Power"
Once in, they must obey the SO contract do WHATEVER, go WHEREVER, OBEY COMMAND INTENTION for the benefit of the Sea Org "to get ethics in on the planet"

Typical $cn. Bait & Switch

The Promise: Super Power Auditor !
The Reality: Stuck in Columbus, Ohio

**I've got nothing against Columbus. I've never been there, in the late 80's I used to trade tapes with a guy who lived there. He said they had a quite good local music scene going on.

It was a donkey decision.

It was a donkey decision by cult management or DM whim.
There was no scn cult WANT in that population.
Never was. Never will be.
But I feel sorry for the 70 SO personnel STUCK with no way out.

Its PIE IN THE SKY that they will find 70 people in Columbus to replace them

An SO member from Atlanta is in Columbus for maybe now the 2nd year or more, and her husband is in Atlanta still.

I'm a little familiar with Columbus, and it's puzzling. A couple years ago, there was a push on Puerto Rico org, then there was a big storm there and I think some people came back to the states, then Columbus. Then they stayed there. It didn't make much sense at the time. Mike raises the question, but factually maybe even the SO people involved don't have a good reason.

Why Columbus?

They can't go to Atlanta. It's dead. Not NY. Apparently Puerto Rico is dead too.

It looks more like - What used to work is no longer working. But you have to persist... or there are no new orders yet.

What's happening at FCDC? Any news about that?

Or Miami....Boston...?

I've encountered that sentiment, but haven't actually seen the policy.

I knew of an org staff member whose contract expired, and was told he couldn't leave staff until he recruited his own replacement, then was declared when, months later, he just said screw it.

It seems counter to the actual sentiment of original LRH policy, where people were supposed to be recruited by the Personnel Procurement Officer, not by everyone in the Org.

This is taken so literally that in my day one could not take an ANNUAL LEAVE without replacing one's self for 3 weeks.
Try finding a Class XII growing on a tree that one could grab to replace.....

No Class XIIs growing on trees? LOL.

That's easy to solve, no problem!

If auditing really did increase one's IQ by 1 point per hour of processing (-DMSMH) then the super geniuses in cult management would create a new confidential mini course that could be completed in a couple days and call it CLASS XIII. And that course would have no prior auditor training requirements.

The copywriting should boast that the case gains per hour are "LITERALLY TWICE" those of Class XII's who cost $1,000 per hour. But the Class XIII hourly rate has been discounted to the astonishingly low, low, low, low price of only $1,500 per hour!

Problem solved!

Whenever an ideal org opens there's a massive amount of work that gets done on recruitment lines. Missions are sent all over the place and they recruit anyone they can find, quals, out-points, etc. are not really a problem.

Even with all of that they could not recruit enough for Columbus or KC, so they stuck a bunch of sea org members there (just till they recruit replacements, of course). They are never going to be able to recruit enough replacements, those Sea org members are stuck there. If I were a Sea org member I might kind of like it, Columbus/KC is probably better than being at PAC. Not sure I'd be making an effort to go back to PAC.

Nothing has happened for the last couple years so they might be able to scrape enough people together for Austin and Chicago. No recruit missions, etc. have been going on so there's "backlogged" recruitment.

Why Columbus/KC? Nothing special, they just "needed" to open.
